Bags (All containers)
Container groups in EverQuest II include inventory, ammo, bank, shared bank, and house vault storage slots. The DarqUI Bag settings affect all of these container classes at the same time, although each character can have its own unique bag settings.
About the profile editorThe settings on the left-hand side of this page affect all containers globally -- inventory and ammo, bank, shared bank and house vault containers. But the profile editor on the right-hand side is used only for Inventory and Ammo containers. If you want to interact with Bank, Shared Bank and Vault layouts in your character profile, switch to the Bank page in the utility. See the section below for more information about using the profile editor.
Auto-sizing containersIf you prefer your containers to be a certain size, you can configure these settings to automatically adjust every bag the first time it is opened in game, even for new characters that you have not created yet. Set the desired bag slot size and padding, and then check the Auto-resize containers checkbox. The next time you log in with this character and open any of the affected container classes, they will adjust to the new size and padding.
Important:The DarqUI Auto-resize feature resizes the bag windows according to your settings, but in this case, unlike most DarqUI customizations, your character settings file records the bag changes for future sessions. This means that once your bags are resized via the Auto-resize feature, you can disable the feature and the bags will remember their locations and sizes without it.
But this is important: The bags won't save their locations and sizes in the character settings file until they have been moved on the screen, even just a few pixels. So when you do an auto-resize, go through and move or resize each bag just a bit, which will trigger each bag to record the new size and shape for future sessions. You only have to do this once per bag. It's likely that when you do an auto-resize, the new icon sizes won't line up with the previous bag sizes, and you'll be moving and resizing each bag anyway.
Snap to gridAlthough it is not controlled by DarqUI custom settings, the snap-to-grid UI feature is worth mentioning here since it greatly improves the adjustment of bag (and other window) locations. In the Game Options (Alt+O) window, navigate to User Interface >> Game Windows >> Windows Snap to Grid. Make sure you are viewing Advanced options (Advanced/Basic button at the top of the Options window).
Choose a very small Snap to Grid Size, 5 pixels for example, and check the checkbox for Windows Snap to Grid. None of the other settings need to be adjusted. Because the invisible grid size is small, your bags will now be much easier to align without losing control of them. You can always come back and uncheck the option if the snap grid seems too restrictive.
Using the profile editor
You can view and make changes to the layout of your Bag containers (personal inventory and ammo slots) on this page. If you want to interact with Bank, Shared Bank and Vault containers, switch to the Bank configuration page.
ImportantThe profile editor makes changes directly to the UI Settings file for your character. This file is frequently updated while your character is logged in, which will usually overwrite any changes you make with the utility before you can reload the new settings. So for best results you should log your character out, at least to the Character Select screen, while making changes with the utility.
The bag profile editor shows a scaled-down view of your game window in full-screen mode. Here you can make some quick changes to the layout of the containers that might be tedious from the game window:
MoveDrag the bags as a group to a different screen location without changing their alignment to each other. To move an individual bag, hold down [Shift] while dragging. To see how your bags overlap with your opened bank windows for example, mouse over the ¤ icon in the upper right.
ArrangeUse the colored buttons to align your bags in a single row across or in a grid. Mouse over the buttons to preview the various arrangements, and then click a button if you want to save the pattern. The alignment grid feature works best if all of your bags are the same width or height.
CopyInstead of using the load_uisettings command to copy another character's entire UI layout, you can use the utility to copy or "clone" only the bag and ammo settings without disturbing anything else. Choose another character from the dropdown to preview the layout. Click Replace to accept the new layout. Click Õ to cancel and return to your own profile.
If you switch to another character and no bags appear in the preview, it usually means the character has never opened or made any changes to bags and is using default settings.
UndoWhile you are on this page you can always click Cancel at the top of the utility to revert the changes. Click Save or Autosave to commit changes immediately.
