Gear Buff Macros

There are many items that cast desirable self-buffs ("clicky buffs") directly from inventory, or as wearable gear. Often buff items must be worn while casting, but the effect remains after the item is removed so you can equip a piece with better stats. Common examples include Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring, Earring of the Solstice and Fishbone Earring. Instead of searching through inventory or using up hotbar slots with complex macros, you can configure up to 12 item buffs in a separate window.

A wide variety of item types beyond gear pieces are good candidates for a buff macro including totems (runspeed, invisibility, etc.), mender bot, teleport items, food and drink, tinkered lifestones and manastones, repair kits, divining rods. If you use a specific mount when tradeskilling, you can set up a macro to switch to it from inventory.

An item buff macro can be set up to handle clickable items in one of three ways:

For item buffs that add a spell effect to the Maintained Spells window, you can optionally configure the window to report when the Maintained effect has expired. Also, if you are using Advanced Combat Tracker (ACT) or other log parser to monitor cooldown timers, a command field is provided that will execute a line of chat text or other command to assist with this.

Showing and hiding the windowThe XP Command Bar and the Start Menu can both be configured with a button to toggle the Gear Buff Macro window. If you want to display the window continuously you can choose Show window on login.
