Using the in-game DarqUI Window Manager
Customizable DarqUI Unified windows can be configured in-game using the Window Manager. The settings page for most windows can be shown in a couple of different ways. For windows that have a titlebar, click the blue gem on the right-hand side of the titlebar. Windows without titlebars have a blue gem button in the upper left-hand corner that stays hidden until you move your mouse pointer over the area.
The only exceptions are bags and hotbars, which have no window manager buttons. To show the settings page for bags, open the Character (Persona) window to the Inventory tab. Mouse over the bag area to show the blue gem button.
If you have at least one hotbar with the bank selector ("spinner") control showing, the gem is visible when you hover over the ornate endcap on the right-hand side of the bar. Spinner controls can be turned on and off by right-clicking the frame edge of a hotbar and choosing Hotbar Settings. If you do not display any hotbar spinners, you can invoke the Window Manager from an icon near the bottom of the Start menu, from a button on the Experience window's Command Bar, or from any of the other windows. Then select the Hotbars page using the dropdown box at the top.
Group and Raid windows do not appear as selections on the dropdown menu. Because their configuration is more complex, the Window Manager can only be invoked directly from the Group or Raid window itself.
You must close the Window Manager before loading a different settings page unless you are using the dropdown box to select a different window.
Making UI changes
If you are just starting out with DarqUI, it is a good idea to use the interface as-is, until you encounter a default setting that you want to change. Almost all configuration changes can be made either temporary or permanent. For example, you might decide to change the default self-cure method on the Threat/Detriment window.
When you invoke the Window Manager and make the change, a small Save button appears near the changed item. Even though the cure method was changed when you made the selection, you have a choice of whether to make that change temporary or permanent. If you close the Window Manager without clicking the Save button, the new cure method will be used until you log out, reload the UI or switch characters. If you want to make the change permanent for this character across game sessions, click the Save button before closing the Window Manager.
If you change a setting temporarily and later decide to make it permanent, reopen the Window Manager and change the desired setting away from and back to the desired value which will raise the Save button again.
The exception to this (there's always an exception, isn't there?) is Group, Raid and Icon Bar spell icons. You must save each of the changes for them to appear in the window.
Important: Because of the way the Window Manager saves your customizations, each change that you make raises a separate Save button. When you click to save that particular setting, a confirmation box appears with an "OK" button. It is important to click the OK button in the confirmation box once for each configuration setting that you are changing.
Important: Displaying the customized portions of the DarqUI interface is triggered when the name of the logged-in character changes. If you log out to the Character Select screen and then immediately back in to the same character, or a character with the same name on a different server, some interface changes from the current session may not appear. The interface doesn't update because the character name did not change. If you find that a new setting does not seem to have been saved after logging back in from Character Select, click the Reset button at the top of the Window Manager. This will refresh the settings for the current character.
