Is there any way anyone can think of to display your current distance to the currently targeted thing?

Nope, I'm not sure this data is available in any visible form. It's not in DynamicData and I don't know of any hard-coded tooltip that shows this information.

Nope, we don't get loc information for enemies, and locs can't be broken apart in game to do calculations.
