Default Time to remove the old tradeskills zones

In Qeynos at least most of the old tradeskills are still showing up on the EQ2Map in game LONG after they have been removed from the cities. For goodness sakes, it has been a year already! It is definitely time to remove them.

ok call me noob. What zones are you referring to? Considering I recall all the ones I can still access being there when I started 3 years ago and those there now all being accessable. So am I missing something?

amiranda is referring to the specialized tradeskill instances for outfitters, scholars, and craftsmen.

Even though it could have been asked in a nicer way, it is a good question. If you check the web-version of EQ2map, those zones have been removed, whereas the interface version still downloads them.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

I looked into doing this a while back. You would just need to delete the old icons from the underlay xml files for the 12 starting districts in Freeport and Qeynos, then double check all of them in the game for bugs, and last, send them to Dolby to put on the eq2map server when he has time.

Getting rid of the old tradeskill entrances would probably help new players, but considering SOE will be introducing an entirely new map system in a few months or so it may not be worth the trouble.

The web site maps don't show any of the underlay icons, like the banks, inns, mariner's bells etc.

Amiranda just added a few to some Qeynos zones, but those will go into the overlay on top of the normal underlay icons.
