Default Autoupdater and port forwarding

I'm having trouble with the autoupdater and my Linksys Wireless 54GS Router.

The autoupdater always tells me that it cannot connect to the remote host, so I think the autoupdater is firewalled (everything works fine if I connect my PC directly with my Modem). Problem is, that even turning off the firewall didn't help, so I was thinking about forwarding the ports the autoupdater needs to my pc.

Could anyone tell me which ports the autoupdater uses or is there another solution to this problem ?

The Firewall must be blocking the program all together because it uses port 80 the same port every ones web-browser uses. Normally there is an area where you can approve / deny a program access to the internet. Not sure where that setting is for you though.

If you have a router, you do NOT need a software firewall.

Uninstall it and chances are your problem will disappear.

I do not have a software firewall installed and even disabling the hardware firewall with the configuration utility of my router does not help.
The Sony launchpad is working fine and updating Everquest from the Sony Server is no problem, just the map updater doesnt work. I did not have this problem with any other program so far. Any help would be appreciated.

If you only have the hardware firewall, that is most definitely not the problem. They only block incoming ports.

Are you sure its not the "oh so common" issue of not having Microsoft.Net installed PRIOR to installing the autoupdater?

Microsoft Net was installed. But I finally found out what the problem was.
I had my Internet Explorer disabled because I usually use Firefox only. After enabling the Internet Explorer everything's fine.
Didn't know the autoupdater needs the IE.
Thanks for your help anyway.
