Default [added]Silver Leaf Inn - 2 Level Acorn

Though it's a small zone I thought there would be those who would appreciate this one.

Nice. Thanks. Yes, it is appreciated, at least by me. :-) In a perfect world, every zone, however small, would have an up-to-date map. That takes time, and every contribution is welcome.

Jnils or gm9 should be able to get it entered and live relatively soon, holidays notwithstanding.

Sorry, only tested in the one home type. I didn't really desire to own any other homes in Kelethin. This is for the free purchase and cheapest rent home. It was free to buy as far as I recall.

There is exactly one other home in Kelethin that uses the same layout. It's Aerie Ilka, the one near the travel globe and Chronomages.

As far as the homes in Kelethin go I found a list on Allakhazam:

I recently did a major update of the housing page at EQ2Traders and personally visited nearly every house type in Norrath.

The maps and textures used would work for a number of the houses since the 4-room is basically two 2-room acorns joined and the 3-room is a single acorn with three levels and no ramp at the door. The only layout that would require special work is the 7-room monster where the lower level of one acorn has three rooms. Of course that's the one with the balcony as well.

Not sure when I'll get around to mapping some of these places.

Then we can reuse the same maps for atleast "Aerie Ilka" 2 room.

But i would like to ask you to remove the Silver Leaf inn tag att the top of the map please, or it would be odd to be in Aerie Ilka and see a Silver Leaf tag :P

And one more request, could you edit your first post so it looks like the other map post with a code wrap ?

Ah yeah, please do remove the "Silver Leaf Inn" thing at the top. The game will tell the player what zone it is, and since EQ2 reuses zones (sometimes in odd ways) we prefer maps to not have what zone they are for burned into the map.

Default Silver Leaf Inn & Aerie Ilka - Kelethin 2 lvl homes

Here's what I'm hoping is the final product. I've included the .xml coding and tweaked it so you basically get both versions using the same textures. I hope that works. If you just don't like that I've included the displayname for both the Silver Leaf Inn and Aerie Ilka then the third and fourth Imagestyle's can be deleted and you can change the 2 entries listed as Silver Leaf Inn to whatever you'd rather have show up in the world map view in-game.

Just so ya know I was able to find where you CAN affect changes to the formating in Paint.net. When you are in your .pdn and click on "save as", select ".dds" from the drop-down. Once you click OK another window will open up with the option to make changes such as selecting "(DXT1, ARGB 4 bpp | 1 bit alpha)" and making sure the check box next to Mip Maps is empty. I think it's defaulted to the correct formatting we use here, so you shouldn't have to worry about it. I was having issues trying to figure it out because I was over-thinking the process.

The maps are now live

I had to rename them as they share the same zone name there is no way to have 2 diffrent menu entrys.

Please delete your user_mapsyles.xml file and re-run the updater or you might get problems with your UI.

Looks good. I wish I had cleaned up the lines a little more in the texture though. Sucks to be a perfectionist. lol

Two last things:
1. The lag when transitioning from level 1 to level 2. I couldn't figure out how to fix that.

2. When I'm in-game the mini map shows this little spot in the upper left corner that looks like a gold-ish box or "L-shaped" something. Is there a way to get that to go away. I'm wondering if I screwed up something and should delete all maps so I can re-install them? Any ideas?

Is it part of the "Like" thumbs-up symbol maybe? There's a known issue on SOE's end where part of that can appear in the corner of the minimap due to some bad placement in one of their images.

It is indeed the edge of the new "Like" hand icon, and it only shows when you have the minimap titlebar displayed.
