As far as I know, this is due to you having selected the chat while zoning option, so if you open the AU, deselect the chat while zoning option, delete the thorui folder within your UI folder, and rerun the AU it should be fine =)

I don't believe his issue is because of the chat while zoning addon.

I started a new toon yesterday (mainly just to check out the new tutorial part of the game (what used to be the Isle of Refuge)). When I actually got into the game after creating the new toon, I also had a black screen with only the UI visible (also jumbled up) while a story-related audio track ran its course. Then after it was done, the blackness went away and the game graphics appeared.

I'm thinking this is the way it is supposed to be happening. Just mark the blackness up as the audio track being a voice in your (character's) head.

A slideshow of pictures are supposed to be visible when you first create a new character.

Also just after launching the game SOE added a new SOE logo video that is still having issues with some video cards/settings.

The first issue could indeed be from the chat while zoning feature. (I'm wondering how many actually use that feature and if I should just remove it)

The second issue could be a video card or SOE issue as you stated in your first post.

Is "how to save my own graphics presets" listed in the GUI info ? or can i find it in amongst these posts plz?

Hi! First off, fantastic work! I could not imagine playing without ThorUI at this point. The new craft window is really nice, however, I'm having a little issue with it. I use hotkeys for reactions, and for batches I make extensive use of the 'hit ENTER to repeat recipe' feature, so I'll select a recipe, hit enter and then combos of keys 1-6 for my dur and prog reacts. The problem is, when I hit enter to repeat the recipe, focus transfers to the search field and all my '456456123'... ends up there, instead of reacting to the crafting conditions. I can switch focus to another window and I'm okay, but if I want to blast through some stuff at crude quality, then when I hit stop I get focus back, and invariably forget to set focus back out, which leads to really spastic crafting :-)

I am trying to comment out the search field atm as a workaround, but don't actually know XML, so it seems like a more durable solution would be preferred. If need be, I can rename the file and go back to the default, but you've spoiled me and I'd prefer not to.

Hehe, I came here to post my testing results today but I see you guys have already come to the same conclusion I did. I did indeed turn off chat while zoning and then started a new character. Sure enough I was able to see the movie again, so (at least) in my case that is where the problem stems from.
While I do enjoyed being able to see and use chat while zoning, I can live without it. To possibly help with a fix however - this problem occured with both the original drivers (what I am using now until EQ2 can fix the blackouts) and the New drivers (what I used before when I first posted this problem) for ATI AIW Radion 9800 pro (agp).

I know exactly what you're talking about.
I did see this and i'll be working on a resolution soon. (Along with slimming the size of the window)

For now, just backspace clear the search field and press enter again.
Any further "enter key presses" will go to the crafting window rather than the recipe window.
Rinse and repeat for each recipe for now unfortunately.

Hope this helps, and I'll see if I can change the functionality of it soon.

I can't seem to get the small target window to work. I tried several times but it always shows a large window.

Hi Dharis, sorry for not getting back to you on this sooner.
Unfortunately the answer is no...
Whe have to "improvise" to get the tenths to show for a more detailed idea of your XP gain on individual mobs. (SOE doesn't have the direct identifier for us to refference)
In doing so we have to "clip" the viewable area off or the text would appear over the other numbers. Cliping then results in what you see if the font size is changed.
Bear in mind even if I made a version smooth font compatible, it would only be for a specific font size. So I would need to make several versions for several font sizes.
I just don't have the time or resources to keep up with maintaining those special versions.

I can offer to make you a custom version "time permitting" but would have to warn you it may eventually be outdated from a SOE update/change.

Oh, that would be great, but only if you find the time for it. My eyes are a little bit handicaped, so I have to take the smooth fonts for beeing able to read the text. I have Smooth fonts and these, er....small serifs fonts (dont know if that's the word, i mean the second checkbox) enabled.

I've just created a new character and the chat window just started to not appear unless I started a camp to desktop. Then it would appear and I would cancel the camp and continue on. But recently even that doesn't work.

How can I get the chat window to appear? There is a space for it where I originally put it but just won't appear.

Ive removed THorUI folder and run the AU but no difference.

I recently bought a new computer and downloaded the game along with the ThorUI (auto update). Everything is working well, as did before, with the exception that I no longer have a Heritage Quest tab in my journal. I have updated several times since, but cannot get this invaluable feature to restore (which I used routinely)...any suggestions? Thanks

Your window placements file is bad.
type /load_uisettings whil ein game and try one of the available options.

All of the "extras" from the help window and journal window are in the infocenter. (you should have a book on your start button that opens it) if you use my start button mod.

Hello really like the UI can't live without it now. Onlt trouble I am having is A tendancy for the chat screen to black out. Do you think this would be a result of the above chat while zoning feature?

chat window blacking out issue is due to the window placements file aka servername_charactername_uisettings.ini

You can use one of the options i provide to resolve this.

I toggle back and forth from extreme performance to a custom set of settings fairly often and I was wondering if there is any way to save my custom settings as a preset so I can avoid going through everything and "retweaking". I noticed there is a checkbutton for custom presets, but I have no idea how to use it....

If memory serves correctly (I'm currently at work, so I can't 100% sure), there whould be a Custom Presets folder within the thorui directory. In this folder, there should be a readme.txt instructions file for the .exe file also in the folder. Use this to set your desired presets.

As stated in the instructions page; all help information and any extra information on how to use features are provided as links in the features section of the ThorUI AU.

Click the "..." button next to each feature.

If I understand correctly Robert/mrnice is working on changine the AU so that is a bit more user friendly/easier to notice.
