Strange things

I downloaded that EQ2 Map thing, I think I followed the instructions right. But...Whenever I open my Menu in the game, the manu apears only with the icons, no text and when I click on map this strange window shows up, showing i have no pet, some half-box full of text and half of a maneu that I can't make out...Please help?

Sounds like you have some corrupted interface files. Download the latest version of EQ2-Map and run it and see if that fixes your problem.

Did you install any other mods other then eq2map?

No, This is the first, and only Mod for the game. I'm not good at these manual Install things. I'll try to list what I did in order.

1-Created a folder in the UI folder named CustomUI
2-Made a subfolder in the CustomUI folder to place the images called Images.
3-Placed all XML files in the CustomUI folder
4-Placed all dds and tga files in the image Subfolder in the CustomUI folder
5-Made the Ini. File with the code flipped (As I read in one thread)
6-Put the mainhub XML file in the EQ2 directory.

And if that was right, where do I get the latest EQ2 Map?

This program will auto install eq2map and keep it up to date. You'll need the latest .Net update from your windows update.

Sounds like you installed the manual version correctly, there must be a few mis-placed files or curropted files. Thats the only time I've seen what you describe.

The Autoupdater does not want to work. It gave me this error.

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

Just to get a little clearer....

The eq2.ini says this

" cl_ui_subdir UI/
cl_ui_skinname CustomUI "

Are these files supposed to be in the CustomUI folder?:

eg2ui_mainhud_map.xml file
All Icons_ files
All plugin_ files
All under_ files
All window_ files
All zones_ files

Edit: I think it's working, I got the Autoupdater to work.

go back to the download for the updater, look for the red text in teh description that says something about needing the microsoft .net frameowrk 1.1, there will be a link to download the framework. download and install the framework, delete your eq2.ini file and then run the updater (it will make the ini for you so that you know it will work properly)
