Question *.dds loc for window backgrounds?

I tried searchin to find the answer for this and didnt see anywhere it was covered. Pardon if I missed it somewhere.

I'm probably overlookin somethin really simple here but for some reason I can't figure it out. I've done some texturizing and colorization of most of my UI. For some reason I can't seem to get the generic black and tan backgrounds to change. I even went to the point of wholesale texture and color application to every dds i could find in the ui folders. no luck.

im not sure what im overlooking. any help is appreciated. included a ss /w the problem areas crudely circled in red.

ah..
those are colored by xml. you can remove the xml/make the background transparent, and you'll see whatever dss is underneath them, or (maybe) use a pic for the background.

Default meh..

so the backgrounds are a hex value color not an actual dds graphic? .. ill play with the xml and see if i can't make it transparent and see whats underneath or just slash and hack a bit to see what happens. trial and error here as im not xml savy. everythin ive managed so far is thru pure intuition.

ty for the speedy response btw insom /salute

np, you're looking for BackgroundOpacity="1.000" if that helps

Default opacities

That did the trick in most all cases. Along the way I must have mis-keyed something. LOgged into game to check my progress on updating the windows and the only visable thing at all on my screen was the Quest update window. Completely black screen otherwise. Oops.

Is there perhaps a way to change all background opacities en masse instead of the tedious work of changing each individual instance in the window heirarchies? Man but thats time consuming heh. (something in the window type definitions maybe?)

At any rate now that I'm past that hang up can work on doin some actual gfx mods in PS and 3DMax.

..and gnash my teeth as I try and recall my html and play /w the xml itself heh.

Open the files in Notepad and do a Search-and-Replace.

If you use Editpad you can actually do a search-and-replace on all open files, so you could open all the windows you want at once and change them all at once.
