Default [Not a bug] Camp to character mods

Is it just me or did GU28 break the camp to character mods?
(aka the camp to specific character)

I'll wait before I attempt to make any changes...

Mine works just fine with LU28, no changes needed from LU27. (shutdown.xml - modded)

Mine still works as it did before (modded shutdown + login). It will /camp <charactername> if on the same account or otherwise kick you to the login screen for going to a second account (because I never managed to skip that step).

Broke for me. If doesn't appear to pick up the character name and attempts to login a char named &. It eventully brings up the character select screen. I am using ThorUI btw.

I have been notified that mine no longer works with the latest update, and it is high on my list of things to do now that I am returning. I'm not sure exactly when I'll be able to get to it though (should be soon), so keep an eye out for it.

In you're thing, are you using &quot (with a semicolon) in the XML? I recently had a problem where &quot stopped working properly for me (I was doing a lot of concatonation, a mix of gamedata and strings) -- it would say & quot; (note the space) and mess everything up.

Basically the same code that I use, except that I just /camp <charname> while on the same account (see below). I'd be interested to know what the code is in those UI's that broke because of the LU.

Mine is using buttons on "camp" You just click the button with the character name to camp to. No password info is needed.

I originally used Mahonri's mod and edited it way back when... (His work is always excellent)
Window resizes top to bottom allowing you to hide character tabs.
Also, I have multiple accounts so made several tabs. (I never got around to releasing this version as an option in the ThorUI...)

I'll have to redo the mod now.

Here's a screenshot and the xml not that it's worth much now.

Looking at your code Faetyl, there seems to be a UIbuilder hickup that liekyl is responsible for killing your mod:

I originally had Mahonri's, then it broke with LU28. So then I tried the code that depechenode pasted here, that didn't work. I then tried Faetyl's, but fixed what gm9 pointed out, still nothing. I then went back to Mahonri's and tried gm9's fix, and still nothing. No matter which mod I try, I always get the same error:

Could not find world Crushbone Crushbone Crushbone Revlock Revlock Revlock mainHUD

Revlock being the name of the character I'm trying to camp to.

I know this isn't something major, but it bugs the hell out of me lol.

Thats exactly it.

IF you put &quot; or anyhing like that in the XML manually, and then use UIBuilder it changes that ampersand into &amp; -- by the looks of it, it did that multiple times, starting with &apos; and then it kept changing the & to &amp; over several iterations.

I've never ever used &quot; in XML. The only time I can ever think I would use it is if I need to " something inside a Attribute. Yes another good reason to try and never press the save button in the UIBuilder.

Default work around

i found that when i start camping to an alt and then click camp to character select screen it loads the alt juat fine without having to go to the character selet screen. hope this helps.

Thats originally why I used it (because I needed a string delimited inside an argument). But then I had an epiphony... Now I just use the singlequote ( ' ) to delimit an entire arguement in which I need to use the doublequote ( " ). Solved my problem, hehe.

Here we are all fixed now.
I wonder though...
Could the bug in the UIBuilder that does this be fixed?

Although Altova XML Spy is nice, It is even better to edit visually in the UIBuilder but if we edit outside the builder then open in the builder it tends to well... react badly to our work.

Either that or change the name to UIViewer and remove the save/vomit button.
I'm kidding of course.
The good certainly out weighs the bad.

Thanks for the updated file. Just set it up for my chars and all works well and I like the new tabs. I just have one problem and that is I can go to any of the tabs and the buttons display fine except for Tab1. Once I leave Tab1 and return to it the buttons for Tab1 are not visible on my system. This appears to only effect Tab1 buttons.

I just realized I was a goober uploaded my modified version with my character names in it.

I just uploaded the "clean" version without my characters.

As for the missing tab issue.
That does sound like a UI issue specific to this mod.
Is it possible that you may have accedentaly modified/removed something that references tab 1?

I'd suggest downloading it again and do a (ctrl-h) to find and replace.
You can type in character in the first field and just change the replace with each of your character names.
Repeat the process for the server entries as well.

It was my error. I had replaced the name for Tab 1 in one place and not the both places that caused the problem I saw. Instead of Account01 I called it something different and did not change it in the other place that it was referenced. I saw that you also had char names and servers and was curious if that was intentional or not.
