Default File locations

Is it relevant to the success of UI installation/use, that the Sony launchapd folder be inside the EQ II folder?

Well, theres 2 launch pads...

There the regular SOE one, which gets installed along with EQ2 I believe, but to a totally different folder / area.

And then theres the EQ2 lauchpad which gets installed with EQ2 (although I think it re-uses the other launcpad only it reskins it and such).

But they're totally differnet folders... on totally different hard drives in fact for me.

Right, ok, I concur.

I posed the question because I wonder if I'm having international/region issues concerning my UI. I do not have the folder(S) LP_REGION_XX_XX etc. I am using European , English version. Should I force the folder to exist?

If you don't have an LP_REGION_* folder then your UI path will be everquest2\ui\<customui>\

Make sure you in fact have only one copy of everquest on your hard drive(s) do a search for everquest2.exe. everquest2.exe is the real game where eq2.exe is the patcher. If it comes up with more then 1 then start renaming until you find the real one. Just because your icon points to one eq2.exe doesn't mean that eq2.exe is running the everquest2.exe in it's directory. That little bit of trickery drove me batty for a bit when testing languages.

Yes, it came to me that if you didn't have the folder already and tried to force it, it would just patch new .xml files to the old location.

No, I only have one EQ2.exe

Think I might just wait until I've added all the expansions and mess with it then.
