Default Desert of Flames?

I was wondering, how goes the mapping of Maj'dul, Sinking Sands, etc for EQ2Maps? Went to add a POI or two, but couldn't select any of the Desert of Flames zones....also, on another note...any idea why the map of Obelisk of Lost Souls doesn't work very well? Several levels (such as levels 2 and 3) don't show any points on the map and the maps themselves are sometimes a bit off. For example, I was trying to navigate Obelisk of Lost Souls level 3, but my icon on the map was never actually on any of the smaller pathways. Looks like everything got shifted over to the right or something a little bit.

Since the NDA is lifted I plan to add the 2 maps SOE has made for DoF so POI's can be made however you will not be able to submit any POI's since alot of NPC locations will change when DoF goes live.

I believe there were three maps they gave us, not including the world map.

Adding the premade maps was really easy, I just can't figure out how to get the icons working in beta. hehe.

Maps for the three zones are available and knowing ya'll will be on EQ2Map very quickly.

Yes, there's maps for Sinking Sands, Maj'Dul and the pillars of flame
Unfortunately they seem to conflict with EQ2MAP so I had to remove it to get them working

You can get them in with EQ2Maps, it's not that hard. On the beta forum, there's instructions. Can even get icons if there's interest, I'll post the instructions (no interest = not worth the time to explain. ). hehe

OK then. For the maps themselves, copy the maps to the images/maps directory (same place all the other maps are). Then you'll need to add this to core_mapstyles.xml (I copied it to the bottom of the file, just above the z_blank entry):
Code:
<ImageStyle Name="exp01_cty_majdul" zonerect="-243, -344, 369, 355">
<ImageFrame Name="imageFrame" Source="images/maps/map_maj_dul.dds" SourceRect="0,0,436,506"/>
</ImageStyle>
<ImageStyle Name="exp01_rgn_pillars_of_flame" zonerect="-2104, -1831, 2437, 1892">
<ImageFrame Name="imageFrame" Source="images/maps/map_pillars_of_flames.dds" SourceRect="0,0,436,506"/>
</ImageStyle>
<ImageStyle Name="exp01_rgn_sinking_sands" zonerect="-557, -1930, 2523, 1734">
<ImageFrame Name="imageFrame" Source="images/maps/map_sinking_sands.dds" SourceRect="0,0,436,506"/>
</ImageStyle>
Now you'll need three files added to the EQ2Map directory. These are a little more complicated, so I'll just link them here. Add all three icon_whatever's to the eq2map directory with all the other icon_ files.

Last step is to modify core_underlay.xml. Add these three lines below the other includes:
Code:
<include>eq2map/icons_exp01_rgn_sinking_sands.xml</include>
<include>eq2map/icons_exp01_rgn_pillars_of_flame.xml</include>
<include>eq2map/icons_exp01_cty_majdul.xml</include>
And ya should be good to go. Just remember, it's not 100% accurate, but it's better than nothing. Several of the icons are just slightly out of place. hehe
Attached Files
File Type: xml icons_exp01_cty_majdul.xml (2.5 KB, 356 views)
File Type: xml icons_exp01_rgn_pillars_of_flame.xml (5.4 KB, 309 views)
File Type: xml icons_exp01_rgn_sinking_sands.xml (3.7 KB, 280 views)

The 3 SOE mapped zones have been added to eq2map patcher. The website now has these zones ready for POI's.

You want us to wait on submitting till it goes live for changes added between beta and live?
