If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

Ok, I think I screwed up.

The map appears fine, but instead of the player's location being shown where it should be, it's up at the upper left corner of the map.

I wasn't supposed to center and enlarge the map in inkscape, was I?

Whoops, actually it was my fault, I copy'n'pasted your zonerect without double checking it first, it wasn't correctly formatted. Run the updater, hopefully it works now (I couldn't test it because I don't have access to a Tier 2 guildhall, hope you tested it before posting ).

Seems to be working now for the most part... It's properly centered, but walking to the far edges of the guild hall shows you outside the walls, next to the edge of the map (it does this on all four sides.)

And just FYI, you can tour the guild halls by right clicking on it.

Edit I did a little math to determine the difference of where it is and where it should be. I came up with these numbers (in the same wrong format as above)
-64.43 -32.84 63.52 123.72

Please test it yourself in game and let me know (should have done that before posting the map really but now you know for next time).

How do I test it myself?

Edit: Ok, so I try changing the Zonerect but it doesn't update when I log back in.
Am I editing it in the wrong place?

UI Buider > eq2ui_mainhud_map2 > Mapstyle > qey_guildhall_tier2
zonerect -64.43, 63.52, -32.84, 127.72

or am I a complete idiot?

That should be it, but since I rarely use UIbuilder and at least for me it often messes up something I can't guarantee that it will work.

You could do the change manually by editing the file Everquest II\UI\<Your Custom UI folder>\eq2map2\core_mapstyles.xml in a text editor.

In the file you will find this:
<ImageStyle Name="qey_guildhall_tier2" displayname="Guild Hall Tier 2" menugroup="Karan" zonerect="-50.89, -26.69, 51.09, 112.75">
<ImageFrame Source="images/maps/map_qey_guildhall_tier2.dds" SourceRect="0,0,436,506" />
</ImageStyle>
Change the zonerect part and reload the game (actually /loadui works for this as well). Running the EQ2MAP updater will overwrite your changes.

In the future, if you create further maps then you can add the code above to _User_MapStyles.xml to test your maps. That file will not be overwritten by the EQ2MAP updater.

Meh, this thing just keeps being a pain in the butt.
For some reason, it won't let me save or do anything to the files in that folder, including make a new one, and the folder itself is marked read only, and isn't letting me unflag it. (Which may also by why it wasn't updating for me)

I think I'm ready to give up.

Ok, went in and did it myself. Correct zonerect is -67, -31, 68, 119, I'll patch that live in a moment. The map isn't perfect though, at least the central staircase is somewhat horizontally displaced.
