Default Hotkeys with Labels

Is this an idea I should develop? Rather, is it something anyone would use? It's the hotkey bar with labels at the top of the buttons.

would have to be per class and some spells would not match even within same class...

No no no, I haven't written text on the images, those are text objects in the XML.

that all depends on how you enter the text for the labels. explain!
if its xml, no.
if its in game and you can save it, totally. It would rock for custom macros.

Bah, you guys!
The labels say exactly what the tooltip of that hotkey says. You don't edit them by hand in any way (well, since the tooltip of a macro is whatever you named the macro, the label will say whatever you entered for the macro name). I'm just doing some fine-tuning then it'll be ready.

Bah, I wouldn't be able to do jack if you hadn't investigated OnEvents and all the undocumented (and barely documented) properties. So thank you Deathbane27!

Here's the XML for people to try out. Like most of my mods, it has its quirks. Because your hotkeys are stored server-side and sent to you when you log in, the hotkeys won't have labels until you're in-game and run your mouse over the window. You'll only have to once per login. It's easy, just run your mouse over your hotkey bars and the labels will pop into existance.

The other quirk is the labels won't update if you use shift+# to change your main hotkey bar. Clicking the buttons on the hotkey bar to change sets will work though.

Clicking on the set number between the two arrows will hide/show the labels.

The XML isn't very special and I'm surprised no one has bothered doing this yet. I figured there must not be that much demand, but it's something I had been meaning to get done for a while now.

Flipping love it Quib.
I'll definately be investigating using something along these lines.
I so miss the simple hotkeys of EQ1, instead of having to remember what all these icons mean, especially the ones available for custom macros.

Nice one.

Depends on your definition of 'mess things up.' It will overwrite your old hotbar mod, changing it to the one Quib's posted here. So if you have a custom size or behavior mod in place for your hotbar, you'll lose it, but you'll gain the text labels. (And trust me, if it's a size mod you'll want to lose it—I tried adapting Quib's code for 3/4 size hotbars and omigod, teeny tiny text hehe)
