Default Windows Vista Problem with "eq2.ini"

Every time I try to make the eq2.ini file in notepad, using "Save As", I make sure not to save it as a ".txt" file, and I write the name as "eq2.ini" with the ".ini" in the name. It worked on Windows XP. I save it on Vista, and it saves as a text file without ".txt". There is no ".ini", though. EQ2 doesn't think I have EQ2Map.

What to do?

Make sure show known file extensions is on, then go to the file right click on it and rename it adding the .ini. Also when you save in notepad you need to have file typed *.* selected or it will add the extension you have selected anyways no matter if you deleted it off the displayed name.
