EQ2maps_Updater has encountered an error and needs to close

Hi:

I'm currently unable to use EQ2Maps Updater. Huge bummer. I'm running .Net 2.0.50215. I used to get an error telling me I needed the .Net beta... but now I've installed that and am having this new error: "EQ2maps_Updater has encountered an error and needs to close". If anyone has seen this and knows the solution please let me know - I would be appreciative.

I'm getting the same error, been having to use the manual install, but would be nice to use the auto updater. I'm running .net 2.0, I also get the same error message when using .net 1.1 framework. If anyone has a solution for this, please post it, I would also appreciate it.

got the sam problem here and cant figure it out at least i know its not my computer lol

Not sure if it matters or not, but in what order did you install everything? You might need to have the .NET framework installed before installing EQ2Maps.

nope i deleted the updater and reinstalled everything and still the same result

I think it doesn't matter whether it downloads or not. Lol

I'm saying that because my eq2map updater works fine. BUT it doesn't download any new updates.
It looks like the last update was Jan 29, 2006. so, no new maps for eq2 since then?

[after I do an update, all the old tradeskill instances are still there, etc.]

The last update to the actual EQ2Maps application itself (the updater program which pulls down all the new map files) is what the Jan 29 date is referring to. If you check the files in the eq2maps folders within your UI directory, you should see much more recent modified dates on them.

As for the old tradeskill instances thing go..... odds are, the crew over at EQ2Maps haven't had the time to remove any of the icons for them yet.
