InfoCenter ThorUI Notes

Both the InfoCenter and ThorUI Notes windows wont open, I click the icons they change to open books but no window.

Also the chat windows are closed when I first start EQ2 so to get them to open I have to press Return twice.

Now I'm thinking this may be more of an issue with the Toons INI file rather than ThorUI as I have installed ThorUI from scratch again and the problem is still there.

Any tips?

My guess would be that you have a corrupt window placement file (server_character_eq2_uisettings.ini).

I'd try wiping the existing one and making a new one (either via the window wizard in the auto updater or logging in and letting the game make one then manually reposition the windows).

good idea, didnt work tho Backed up and erased old uisettings ini but the game makes a new one and still has the same problem ?

Also tried making a new one with the wizard, same probolems chat window is hidden etc.

Been like this a while now at least 2 updats old (eq2) but never realy bothered me.

Hey I know you may be frustrated and starting from scratch may aggrevate the issue but my experiences have shown it's usually the best thing to do.

1.) Launch the ThorUI AU
2.) Click the "Cancel Button" stopping the ThorUI AU from updating and/or auto launching
3.) Click "Options"
4.) Click "Advanced"
5.) Click "Features"
6.) Click the "Plus Sign" next to "Journals"
7.) Click the "Plus Sign" next to "ThorUI InfoCenter"
8.) Ensure that you have a "Check Mark" in the "Check Box"
9.) Click the "Plus Sign" next to "MainHUD"
10.) Click the "Plus Sign" next to "Startbutton"
11.) Ensure that you have a "Check Mark" in the "Check Box"
12.) Click "Ok"
13.) Click the "Update Button"
14.) Log in game and see if you have the extended Start Button "Pull/Extend" the window out, up, down, left, right if needed to extend the window.
15.) Click on the "Middle Book Icon" on the Start Button

Do you have the ThorUI InfoCenter?

If Yes that was it. If No continue on...

1.) Browse to your EverQuest II directory
2.) Delete the thorui folder within your ui directory
Note: Ensure you DON'T have the ThorUI AU installed in that directory. The Auto Updater should NOT be installed in the same directory as the UI files and can cause issues like these to occur. If it is, uninstall and reinstall to the default install location OR ANYWHERE other than the thorui folder within the UI directory. Note: If that was needed you WILL need to repeat the above steps to select the features you wish.
3.) Log in game and check if you have the ThorUI InfoCenter

If Yes that was it. If No continue on...

I won't go into the full instructions for this part as they are posted but basically just delete your characers window placement file and log in allowing the game to create a fresh copy for you. Be sure NOT to use the uisettings option that you are prompted with when you log in game.

I'll stop here and wait to hear back from you...

First lot of tips worked a treat, the chat windows are still closed on startup but thats a minor niggle.

And I got the sliding sound volume tags back!!!
