Default A question about custom map mods...

I want to mod my map screen, but I use the EQ2Map Auto Updater. I am worried, if I modify my map screen, everytime the EQ2Map Auto Updater updates the map file of my interface, it will overwrite my modifications. Is this true?

Yup, what you'll need to do is modify the window_*.xml files found in the EQ2MAP folder if you want to change what the window looks like. They won't be overwritten by the auto-updater. In the EQ2MAP downloads area is the MookUI style set, and Zonx includes a style set in their complete UIs that are a good example of how to accomplish this.

No. Do not edit eq2ui_mainhud_map.xml. It will be overwriten when you update. Instead, edit window_*.xml files found in the EQ2MAP folder like Quib had said.

there is a folder called eq2map (adjacent to images folder) that has nothing but a bunch of xml files.

you would edit any file that begins with window or plugin.

using onshow and onhide you can edit the size/appearance of other windows
i.e. onshow=parent.parent.size="436,512"
