Pulling images from .dds and .tga files...

Ok the only way I have been able to insert images into my files is by having only one image per .dds or .tga and putting 0,0,165,160 for example for the location because I do not understand exactly what the 4 number mean. Is this location and size of image? I have been testing out some of sony's .dds files and looking at what they put for the four numbers but it makes no sense. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
