Updater will not run

This just began happening recently. Had EQ2 map with auto updater for a while now. But when I run it now I get the following error:

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0x95c (2396), Thread id=0x7c0 (1984)

Click OK to terminate the application. Click CANCEL to debug the application.

If I hit CANCEL I get:

Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2). Please check computer settings.

cordbg.exe !a 0xadc

Click on retry to have the process wait while attatching a debugger manually. Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug reqest.

Ok....so all of that is gibberish to me. What do I do?

Anyone come up with a fix for this yet? Does re-installing eq2map fix it?

just about same probelm that just started the other day tried uninstaling it and reinstalling it still does not work

Yes Fourteen, that is the exact error I get and it just started a few days ago.

Things I have tried so far from searching:

Reinstalling .NET
Reinstalling EQ2MAP

Neither fixed the problem.....

Please help us EQ2MAP devs, has something chagned in the program or in windows update that would cause this?

Just reinstalled my CPU today (w/NVida 6800 from ATI 9200 (WOW)). Had map running perfectly before, but while doing MS update a verification patch was installed, and then map went down. Giving me .NET errors. Easy enough to switch to the manual version.

Just a note to say that the issues seems to be due to an empty config file (this is loaded by .NET before the error handling code, so you get the nasty message instead). There is a thread myself and Haggian worked on with the solution that worked for him at:

Note: You only need the config file in the lower post, not the new exe in the higher one. Any issues with the fix either post in there or PM me.
