Default Override MainHUD_map.xml

Could someone explain this to me a little more clearly. Let me explain what I want to understand.

I would like to incorporate eq2map into the custom UI I'm creating. Now, if I don't override the map file, I get no maps to display in game. If I override, I get a default looking map window with full map functionality.

How can I make eq2maps work with my customized map window? Do I have to mod the map.xml that downloads with the auto updater? If so, will I have to everytime I run it?

Currently you will need to mod the eq2ui_mainhud_map.xml file that comes with EQ2MAP and set the autoupdater not to overwrite that file.

Not to long from now the new EQ2MAP will be released at that time there will be 3 files that we allow you to skin that will change the looks of the window. When it is released we will give some info on the files you are allowed to mod and the changes that are made for skinners and plugin authors.
