So saying no to overwriting eq2ui_mainhud_map.xml could break eq2map later on if changes are made to that file.

You're right - I was just going off what I had read in other posts about the map because I was trying to incorporate Fetish's minimap plugin and it wasn't working properly. I just updated mine and everything still seems to be working the same, I'll make changes to the first post.
Edit: Okay, I take that back, when I use the minimap feature it borks some of the tabs/buttons. I'll have to search the forums for a fix for this. *sigh*
