I'm having updater problems as well. Log.txt reports:
d.p.u.s.core.model.Downloader - Wrong file hash - Could not update C:/Users/Public/Sony Online Entertainment/Installed Games/EverQuest II/UI/DrumsUI/Alternatives/Blue_Gold(Default).zip
Checked and made sure my Java was updated. Still have the problem.
