I assume if you launch EQ2 normally
with out EQ2Map you get the new Launcher right? It should look like the picture below...

Right click on your EverQuest II icon, it should be a black one like in the picture below. Then choose properties.
Now keep that properties widow open and open up EQ2Map and press the options button until the options window opens. Now make sure the paths are as shown with the arrows...
