Sounds like a corrupt file. Open the updater, and when the "Update" button turns into a "Stop" button press it. Then go to options and click the "Re-Download all Files" button.
If that doesn't work, maybe try uninstalling the updater and reinstalling it. When reinstalling it, make sure you do not have any anti-virus software running, AVs have the potential for messing up program installs.
