Cant ask for much more of a discription.

also (i know jack about web pages) if anyone can figure out how they are taking data from eq2players i'd love to know! They automatically display my class and level in my blog!

for this forum? is it possible to even write "plugins" for vBulletin or are you stuck with what they give you?

insomniac 01-02-2005 02:58 AM

Ok well, if not possible as a sig, how about listing it under people's avitar (like server is)?

it'd be nice to see what people are playing in-game. =)

what i meant is there a way to write custom code for vbulletin, i tried to find info on thier website but failed. if it lets you write custom code then you could do it either way.

*raises his hand so only Insomniac can see*

I plan on making a dynamic sig (like the one I have now (if it's not showing up when you view this post, it's cause I'm working on my site))

It's just I have a website with GD support, so, I dunno how to do stuff like that otherwise.

insomniac,
You might be able to work with the people over at www.eq-2.com.

They have made a Dynamic Signature Creator:
EQ2 forums link
direct link

I don't think you need to modify the signature code to work with vbulletin. All it should do is create a linkable image. For the record, that guild and character listing will work with vbadvanced. I got it working for my guild's vbadvanced web site.

For just a signature, there's a php file here that you can modify. I did not write this, but bookmarked it from the soe eq2 forums. Can't find the original link to the post.

I think this would be harder than creating a signature. :)

The problem I ran into when trying to get people's player information displayed is that the data in the arrays are different depending on whether or not they pay for the eq2players.com junk.

You would need to set a check to see if the player pays for the extra stuff before you grab their level and class. Otherwise you get things like their race displayed where you expect their class to be.

It wouldn't be terribly hard to do, but it's not something I have the energy for at the moment. hehe.

If you wanna go the way of knowing when people are playing in game, I really suggest XFire

http://www.xfire.com

Of course you have to buddy people, but it's a great program.
