Load UI_Settings?

I read I shouldnt use this command, but i dont find any reason for this in this Forum.

What will happen if I do this?

and how can I copy without this command the UISettings from one char to another?

Simply rename the Char.xml file in the EQ2 directory?

I use it all the time.

I've never had any problems with that command. I use it all the time to make one of my characters UI set up the same as another.

You might be thinking of the /loadui command and not the settings one. The /loadui still appears broke and tends to botch up the .ini

/load_uisettings works perfectly and does allow you to set up other characters to all use the same window positions.

There was a short period of time a couple of months back when the /load_uisettings command was causing issues since it was corrupting the information during the process. However, that issue has been resolved and there shouldn't be any worry with using the command at this time.

does this mean there is a /save_uisettings ?

FloridaFringe 08-20-2007 04:54 PM

Yes. Someone else might be able to fill in any blanks but to the best of my knowledge the commands most often used for loading and saving UI elements are:

/loadui
/load_uisettings
/load_uisettings <file>
/save_uisettings <file>
/load_keymaps <file>
/save_keymaps <file>
/load_colors <file>
/save_colors <file>
/load_options
