Having To Setup UI *Every* Session

Having a bit of a problem, hope someone can tell me what to do.

I have used custom UI's since before PoP (EQ1) and know all about .ini saving, etc. My problem is that after getting everything set in game, windows set that is, when I camp to desktop and then log back on, the default UI is loaded.

Anyone know?

Trust me; my .ini file points to my UI (Gothic atm), and I deleted each of my characters UI settings to restart and try again. Nada.

Help appreciated!

Make sure your eq2.ini has the line pointing to where your custom UI is located.

If you do not hae an EQ2.INI, you need to make one and place it is the root directory of eq2.

My EQ2.INI is like this:

cl_ui_subdir UI/
cl_ui_skinname modsadv

the modsadv is the "name" of the folder where the custom files are that is part of the /ui/customnamed folder.

Once you have this in you ini file and the file is saved (make sure it is saved as an .ini and NOT .TXT!), restart eq2. The custom files will show up.

Yeah, just like I pointed out in my post - very aware of .ini files and have worked with them before. Everything is set up to work.

For some reason though, the UI just resets. It's not .ini. It's not the characters themselves. Something else.

OK you say you set up the "custom UI' the way you like it but when you rerun the game it loads the 'default UI'? How did you get the custom UI to load in the 1st place to get it set up the way you like?
