Small UI patch and EQ2 Data!

Today SOE released a small update to the persona window and added a couple check boxes to allow users to enable or disable the new eq2players api data. You can see a compare of the changes here.

This also brings the announcement that SOE has added a public API to query the EQ2 game database. You can find more about their new API and what it can do in their forums.

Dethdlr from EQ2Wire has created a great website called EQ2U using data from SOE's new API.

I'm wondering if by using both these api database thingies a more personalized EQ2Maps might be possible?

Say the ability to track only your currently accepted or tracked quests for the zone you're in on the map/minimap and not show them all or nothing as it is now.

That's not how the API works to my knowledge. It deals mostly with statistics and is updated sporadically; I doubt it has information on your currently accepted or tracked quests.

Hi there! Thanks for the plug on the main page here. It wasn't all me though. Feldon and I worked together on the site, me doing the backend stuff, him doing the UI/frontend stuff.

And you're correct that this API doesn't currently contain quest information. It is, however updated quite frequently, like each time you zone, log off, etc. It's a lot more current that I could ever have expected for the data it contains.
