Request: Armory: easily view Alts' gear and inventory

I'm surprised something like this hasn't come out (or that I have heard) since SoE first added Heirlooms.

I would love to be able to easily view what loot my alternates have when I have a chance to roll for alts. I've just gotten around it by screencapping all of their gear in paint and photoshop, which is a pita to update.

A click of a button in the corner to bring up a window to show the gear and inventory of my other characters at any time.

I'm sure anyone who rolls or bids for their alts would really appreciate something like this.

Alternately, you could try using this site ( http://u.eq2wire.com/ ) in the in-game browser. It doesn't show bags, yet, though - just equipped gear. It does list spells and which you have at what rank, I like this one.

Thanks for the note about EQU. I had no idea this existed, and it's the sort of thing I always hoped Magelo would get around to doing.

The remaining question is now the quality of the EQII player data feed. I know an all-new EQ2Players site is coming. I hope this means the data feed will finally be reliable.

That EQ2U site is brand new, as is the data feeds.

From everything I've heard/seen, they're highly reliable now. The old site used a kind of half-assed way of storing data (which is partly why the site was so terrible). With this new one, they developed a system that would update from the game periodically (potentially every time you zone) to a "Census" system that acts as an intermediary. Supposedly its something they can use for multiple games, so they seem to have but a lot of dev time into it.

Lordebon is right. The new data feeds are working great.

Pretty much each time you zone or log out, the data is exported from the game to the data feeds. We'll have it on EQ2U within 5 minutes.

I've personally looked at my character's spells on EQ2U, mastered one I missed, zoned, counted to 10, refreshed EQ2U and saw the spell go from expert to master.

We're quite pleased with how current the data is and we're using a combination of caching locally in our database and checking for when the last time the data was updated to keep the info on the site as current as we can without killing performance.

And we have plans for a bunch more. :)
