Fetish Installation Instructions

  1. Download the current version of either the "Core" release and extract it to your EverQuest II\UI directory. You can find the EverQuest II directory by opening the game launchpad, clicking the "Advanced tools" button in the bottom left and then chosing "Open Game Directory," the UI folder will be inside there.

  2. If you are using Fetish for the first time:
Move the "EQ2.ini" file* from inside the Fetish folder you extracted into the base EverQuest II folder.
If you are updating an existing Fetish install:
Edit your EQ2.ini file* to change the version number to match the version you have downloaded. Alternatively, you may rename the downloaded folder to match the previous name after renaming the previous folder. If you have customized MarketFavs or any other files, copy them into the downloaded install now.
  3. New users: Download the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 if you do not already have it installed. This is a prerequisite for the EQ2MAP Updater.

  4. Download the EQ2MAP Updater if necessary. Run it to update your maps.
If you have an existing Fetish install, you may copy the Images folder from your old install to your new one choosing NOT to overwrite any files in order to reduce the size and time of the map download.

(*)If you do not see any .ini files you may need to turn off hiding of known extensions in window's folder options. Alternatively, simply look for the file named "EQ2" with the description "Configuration Settings."

Strange I open Fetish Core and go to the base folder (aka Fetish 12.2) and see it right there.

It doesn't say eq2.ini on mine either just eq2 with a bolt looking icon. It's in the same place yours was.

.ini is the file extension. You probably have known file extensions turned off, in which case you won't see the ".ini" (or things like ".xml" or any other known extensions). Windows tends to have them off by default in some versions IIRC, you can turn them on in Folder Options in the control panel.

I'll add a note about that to the installation instructions, however.
