EQ2 getting a new updater
 

EverQuest II will be receiving a much needed update to their default updater tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov 30th).


The improvements to the updater are as follows:

• It no longer requires a Flash installation.
• Much faster patching speed (as much as 10X faster if you're still using the original Station Launcher).
• Less data gets patched (smarter differentials between versions).
• A general aesthetic upgrade.

Original Station Launcher has not updated
 

I am still on the original launcher why have I not recieved the update for this?

Only LP3 has the automatic update at this point. If you're using LP1 (the EQ2.exe that came with the original game) or LP2 (the Station Launcher) you'll have to either wait for them to add the auto-update to them or manually update from http://launch.soe.com/eq2/

I'd recommend the manual update. Just make sure when it asks you what directory to install into to point it at your actual game directory. LP4, like LP3 and LP1, has to be in the game's folder to work right.
