AutoUpdater will not run for anyone I know

Just an FYi, I've refered 5 or 6 people to eq2maps. We can all get the maps to work in game manually without any problems BUT none of us can get the autoupdater to work.

When we download and run EQ2MAP_Updater.exe we get a windows application error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click ok to terminate the application".

This seems to happen to anyone I refer to the site. Is there any way to resolve this?

yes if you would read the directions it might help :) or even just reading the red part of the directions would help ;)

Before Installing:
You must have The Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 or greater for this program to run
The Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 can be downloaded either from this direct download link or if you prefer you can get it from windows update. When you try and run the program and you get "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application." or something similar it is because you either dont have the .net framework, or you have the .net framework but its really old.

If you have a 64-bit processor:
It appears to work on these however some users were having problems with it.

You (and apparently everyone you know) don't have Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1. Use Windows Update to get .NET 1.1.

Ahh that would make sense because the group I'm talking about and myself don't have .net.

We fear change...

you can get it from windows update or the link provided in my post above or the link in the description for the download of the updater.

.net

Actually, installing .NET did change one very noticable thing for me. Now, when I boot the machine, it makes me pick a user even tho there is only one choice of users, and I don't have to specify a login or password.

Just FYI, I consider it a small price to pay for a great mod.

Installing .NET should have installed a new Windows XP login name called something like "ASP.NET." If you delete that user, Windows XP should automatically login like it used to.

Or download TweakUI here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

and set up your windows auto-login to your main user.
