EQ2 Map Program Stopping with error at start
I have tried to run the EQ2 Map editor recently, and I keep getting the error
“There was a error getting latest version info: The remote name could not be resolved: ‘maps.eq2interface.com’” This would occur almost immediately after the graphic interface would show up, but never getting past the Update part of the interface. I have erased and re-installed the program (downloaded from EQ@Interface), but I still get this message. I have the latest version (1.2.10). Can someone please help me to get this to work again? Thanks! |
Looks like there is something that blocks the program to connect to the internet.
Check your firewall if its blocked. |
Checked Firewall
OK- I checked my firewall - that seems to be fine, but I cant find anywhere to exclude specific programs. I am using Norton Internet Security (the latest version), so I don't know why this is still happening. It was working fine up till about a week or two ago (the EQ2 map program).

OK - I think I got it fixed
Upon re-checking in Norton Anti-Virus, I finally figured it out - It was my Virus protection - it had my EQ2 updater program listed as "Blocked" on its trust list. Funny how that just seemed to happen, with no input from me :(
Oh well - at least it seems to be working now. Thank you all for your help!! :nana: |
