"Can't Launch EQII from map updater"

~`To Whom it may Concern,

HEEEELLLLPPPPP!!! LOL >8*O

Updater is working fine in game, but only on the initial install (both times) was it possible to auto/manually Launch EQII game from EQ2map...

Now I recieve error message/There was an error trying to Launch EQII, this could be an indication that this file has been placed in the incorrect location, Please open EQII manually.

p.s. It SUCKS! Hopefully I'm not 2 anal but any help is greatly appreciated =P

not a fix but..

you could do this...

run the map updator, and uncheck the start eq2 box. then close it and start eq2 from the eq2 shortcut =)

anyways that'll still put what you need in the UI etc and may work, it'll atleast tell you if you need to re-install eq2 or the updator heheh (something might have actually been corrupted =))

Ummm....perhaps you moved the EQ2.exe file you had the updater pointed to?

Just a thought

open up eq2map_config.cfg in C:\Program Files\EQ2MAP Updater\ folder (use notepad to open it) and look for the lines that look like:

Code:

<ConfigValues>
    <OptionName>AutoLaunchPath</OptionName>
    <OptionValue>C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II</OptionValue>
  </ConfigValues>
  <ConfigValues>
    <OptionName>AutoLaunchFile</OptionName>
    <OptionValue>EQ2.exe</OptionValue>
  </ConfigValues>
  <ConfigValues>

Make sure that these settings are correct. The AutoLaunchPath should be the folder location where eq2.exe is, and the AutoLaunchFile should be the name of EQ2.exe (in case you renamed it).
