Spell Sets....PLEASE

OK, I just ran across a post on the official EQ2 forums about being able to save different sets of hotbars and reload them. Basically a manual method of Spell Sets that are in EQ1. Now, since this is possible, it seems to me that some brilliant modder should be able to come up with a window (even if it's very basic) that will allow us to click on different buttons to save and/or load different sets of hotbars. The commands are simple, however, we'll need to be able to easily edit the path & filename of the saved hotbar set.

Here's a link to the post that explains this.......

Good luck, and I really hope someone is able to get his one knocked out.

I've been using the the /loadhotkeys command for a while to switch between tradeskill sets. It doesn't require a special UI just the .dat files which can contain macros for navigation. You can try mine out by putting these files in your EQ2 root directory and typing: /loadhotkeys hotkeys_ts1.dat in your chat window. This is setup to only remap your last hotbar.

Just make a few macros, you don't need a special UI piece :)

I tried this....but it does not seem to load the hotkeys correctly. For example if it is blank it wont load them blank it leaves what was there before.

Is there something I am missing?

It doesn't save blank spaces, thats just how it works.

so the only way to truly get this to work is make sure every hotkey bar is filled?

I even tried to save a blank hotkey it did not do anything.

I dont understand why it cant be a simple fix for EQ2

Magus 08-22-2005 02:29 PM

*They* might be able to fix it, but we can't do anything :)

Not your fault =)

Acutally reading further the thread it seems there is a workaround someone posted afterwards havent tried it yet

If you look at the files I posted you'll see that it does fake out the system by loading 'spell 0' which doesn't exit thus a blank hotkey is created. The example I posted has been edited so only the last hotkey bar #10 is changed so the only bug I've found is:

If I'm on Hotbar #1-9, /loadhotkeys, then scroll to #10 it doesnt hold the blanks, but if I'm on hotkey bar #10 when I /loadhotkeys the blanks hold no matter how much I scroll.

I guess it all depends how much you would be bugged by that.
