need help cant log into eq2 with eq2map
 

HI, i just recently downloaded and installed eq2map and i am having a little problem it happen after i put my password in and start uddateing but as soon as it goes through its advertisement it tell me invalid username and password but i have already inputed the correst one to get that far (I can remove the eq2map file and log in fine just not with eq2map) any input would be greatly :) apreciated

EQ2MAP doesn't have any effect on the login process. Typically when you get that error message, it means you already have a character logged in on that account or you just lagged out and your character is still in game.

We need more specifics though if you're positive EQ2MAP is giving you trouble. Do you have any other custom UI elements installed? Did you install EQ2MAP using the auto-updater?

That is really strange. EQ2MAP has nothing at all to do with that and shouldnt be effecting it... Are you using the updater? The most current version? It is generating any error messages?

Well i know i dont have a character inthe world i have yet to log in with the server s down but i cant even get to the character select but i can with out the eq2map :) files

Yes i am useing the updater and I currently do not have any other files in the folder with the eq2map no interfaces and pieces of anyand to further elaborate on the problem i do enter the correct password at the launcher but when it goes intolaters parts of login it tells me my password or username is invalid and yes the caps button is off :nana:

I suppose let's try a fresh install first since you don't use any other custom UI pieces.

Carefully delete the following:
eq2.ini (this will be in your main EverQuest II folder)

Next, find the folder EverQuest II\UI\EQ2MAP
Delete EQ2MAP

Now re-run the auto-updater. There's a chance you got a bad file during a website updating process; that's what I'm hoping anyway.

That did it ..dont know what it did but it did..one final ? would i be able to use other UI 's such as 3/4 hotbar etc with the current eq2.ini file or is there a way to make another and not have them clash..or do i just send them all to the eq2map file and just use the eq2.ini that came with the download

Just put whatever other (non-map) mods you'd like to use in the same folder as EQ2MAP (UI\EQ2MAP) and they'll load up automagically.

Very many of the interface parts are fully compatable w/ one another. You just have to be sure none duplicate the same files.

If the zip you dl for a new mod includes a file you know is already in your customUI dir, you may have to decide which mod you want to use more.

I have about 10 mods installed and none of them interfere w/ the eq2map one

also for some reason (dont ask me why) using the auto launch button for the EQ2 patcher (not the eq2map one) will make that error happen alot. I used to use it but it didnt save any time because i would have to quit out of the game whenever that error happened.

usually when i have auto-launch selected, but press play before the timer runs out i get that same error.


drove me nuts trying to figure out what happened :) now i dont care cuz i barely play anymore lol

This is due to the examine.xml file problem.
Problem I had just finished a quest and the reward window popped up
which crashed my game. So I logged back in. When the screen went to
load, the reward window wanted to open again...which kill the game again.
so, I reset my ui to default (could have deleted examine.xml file) and everything was fine.
