EQ2 Map Program Stopping with error at start

I have tried to run the EQ2 Map editor recently, and I keep getting the error
“There was a error getting latest version info: The remote name could not be resolved: ‘maps.eq2interface.com’”
This would occur almost immediately after the graphic interface would show up, but never getting past the Update part of the interface.
I have erased and re-installed the program (downloaded from EQ@Interface), but I still get this message. I have the latest version (1.2.10).
Can someone please help me to get this to work again?
Thanks!

Looks like there is something that blocks the program to connect to the internet.

Check your firewall if its blocked.

Checked Firewall

OK- I checked my firewall - that seems to be fine, but I cant find anywhere to exclude specific programs. I am using Norton Internet Security (the latest version), so I don't know why this is still happening. It was working fine up till about a week or two ago (the EQ2 map program).

That error means that your system couldn't resolve the hostname "maps.eq2interface.com" through DNS. See if you can go to http://maps.eq2interface.com/ in a browser. If you can, try re-running the updater and see if it's started working. If you can't, you'll need to troubleshoot what's wrong with DNS. One trick on Windows is to open a command prompt and do "ipconfig /flushdns" and then try the browser URL again.

OK - I think I got it fixed

Upon re-checking in Norton Anti-Virus, I finally figured it out - It was my Virus protection - it had my EQ2 updater program listed as "Blocked" on its trust list. Funny how that just seemed to happen, with no input from me :(

Oh well - at least it seems to be working now.

Thank you all for your help!! :nana:
