Can't get ANY UIs to work. What am I missing?

Hello,

I'll tell you what I did and you tell me where I went wrong:

My EQ Directory is E:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest II

1.) Downloaded a UI (ProfitUI)
2.) Created a folder named "ProfitUI" in the following directory:
E:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest II\UI
3.) I copy/pasted the eq2.ini file that extracted with the ZIP file into the
E:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest II directory.
4.) I opened the eq2.ini file to confirm that the UI name was correct.
5.) Opened Everquest II - The default UI is loads
6.) Type /loadUI - Only the default shows in the list.
7.) I beat my forehead against the wall next to my computer.
8.) Iced my forehead.

Where am I going wrong here? I tried the same procedure with another UI just to confirm that the first UI wasn't broken.

make double sure that the ProfitUI folder name and the eq2.ini both have ProfitUI spelled exactly. Even case sensitive. If that doesn't work try renaming the folder to myui and change it in the eq2.ini aswell. The simple aproach may resolve this issue. But I wouldn't think it would but hey what do you have to lose. Hope I helped. Oh and make for certain your Profitui isn't in its origanal folder ie.. f:/programs/eq2/ui/ProfitUI/ProfitUI/files it should be f:/programs/eq2/ui/ProfitUI/files. Sometimes when I extract to it's allready in it's own folder so make sure it's not.

I'd just like to add that you should never use /loadui. That command doesn't work like its supposed too. :)

Are you playing on a non-US server? If so, there should be a folder within E:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest II named LP_REGION_UK or something like that.

If so, you need to work within that folder. Place EQ2.ini in there, and place ProfitUI within that folder's UI subfolder.

i doubt yours is the same problem as mine, but i figured i'd tell you about it just in case. the first time i tried to use UI's, which was yesterday, i downloaded 2 UI's and tried to get them to work for hours. then i relized they where eq 1 UI's

Make sure there's no subfolder in UI\ProfitUI, and make sure that eq2.ini doesn't have a .txt extension also.

How about this?

Another thing to make sure is that there are no spaces/special characters in the folder name (and in the directory reference in the eq2.ini file, too).
