Thread to post bugs and suggestions


If you are updating from a previous version all you need to do is copy and paste the new .exe file. All other files are the same. (This will keep the location of the profit ui raid buttons file saved)



This is a program I wrote to make editing the Raid Buttons in ProfitUI easier. It is still in beta so if you have any problems or don't like something, or have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Everything seems to be working but This is still in beta!. So make sure to back up any files you edit before saving and changes made with this program.

Instructions:
When you first open the program (RaidButtonsEditor v0.2.exe) you will be promted to find the file: "_ProfitUI_QuickRaidButtons.txt". This is located in the ProfitUI folder in the EQ2 UI folder. Default is (I believe) C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest2\UI\ProfitUI.

If you don't want to back this file up and would just like to try my program I have included a copy of the _ProfitUI_QuickRaidButtons.txt in the same folder as the exe.

Now that the _ProfitUI_QuickRaidButtons.txt file has been selected you will not need to tell the program where it is the next time you load it. If you ever want to change which _ProfitUI_QuickRaidButtons.txt the program opens simple select File->Load


In the main window you can select the class's raid button you want to edit, the raid button to edit, the action of the raid button (assist, message only, or spell / ability).

If you select spell you can click the button at the bottom left to select the spell you want to use when you click the raid button. You can also select whether you want to use the spell line (as you level it will use the highest level spell) or to not use the spell line (will only use that spell even if there is a higher level version of it)

With any selection (except NoAction) you can add a tool tip (the message the appears when you mouse over the raid button) and a tell, group, and raid message to be broadcast when you click the button.

In the group and raid messages you can use Parent.Target to print the name or the target (Parent.Target acts like %t)

To add a message to be sent to a channel type in the channel's name in the first text box and the message in the second text box. Ex:
Good_Paladin
I am talking in Good Paladin Channel



If you find that a spell is missing or a spell in missing in a spell line you can click Edit->Spell List to open the Spell Edit window.

In this window you can Add, Remove, and Edit any spell.

To Add a spell simply click the "New Spell" button. Then type in the name, level, class, and description. If the spell belongs to a spell line click "Change Spell Line". In this window you can search for all available spell lines by the lowest level spell in the line or the highest level spell name. If the entire line is missing you can click "New Spell Line to add a spell line". If the spell is mistakenly in the wrong spell line you can click "Remove Spell From Line". Don't worry about saving the spell, as soon as the name is entered the spell and all changes are saved automatically to memory.

Editing is basically the same. Search for the spell to edit and select the spell. All changes made will be saved automatically to memory.

When you are done editing save the spell file by going to File->Save Spell List


If you make any edits to the spell list please let me know so I can update my spell list

The changes to the raid buttons will carry over to the group window's buttons

I noticed similar as Shaiana. After I had configured tells etc for my fury and necromancer, fury's 2rd and 4th skill buttons stopped working for some reason. In group window when I tried to heal ppl using those two buttons, they didn't do anything.

Seems the 2nd button refuses to activate

I have been messing with this all day. I can get buttons #1, 3-5 to work and go to tell, group, and raid...as well as a message. This is for both the group and the raid windows.

However, nothing i do with button 2 works. At all. Nothing. I dont even get the message that the person needed to be dead to get that spell (rez) cast on them.

I have tried putting a simple message in the /g line... saying Rez inc ....and nothing. I get no response from the program in game. Same goes for the raid and tell buttons as well. all with the simple messages as above. Still not working...it seems to be only Button 2 that this problem is connected to.

I can change the name of the button and the spell, and that sticks, but I cannot get any spells or /g, /t, message or /raidsay at all to work.

If it helps any, I was making Button 2 my single target Dirge rez spell. I changed the spell, and the button number, tooltip etc just like i did the others. It just seems to be, well, turned off for some reason

The other problem I have is making Button 5 my Shard request button...seems when i redo the program it sort of dissapears and i have to redo it again. Every time, actually lol That I can work with...as long as it works when i need it to in game its all good. That is using the message selection from the drop down menu.

any ideas?

I noticed a bug in the utility.

When I was configuring what commands are sent to group/raid and as tell for necromancer resurrect spell (3rd skill in group/raid window), when the send tell input textbox selected, and when I pressed space bar, the text box content for this was always cleared. I used clipboard as a work around for this.

It'd be nice if one could use more than those three commands per given spell. Now one can only define what text is send as a tell, send to a current group and to raid channel. We use also 4th channel, where for example resurrections castings are send. It'd be nice if 4th textbox for specified channel could be defined as well.

Also it would be nice that similar to spells also the cures could be defined.. what text is sent as tell / group channels. This is for grouping though only. Sometimes it could be useful, to not burn mana for curing if someone else is doing the curing already..

Nice, finally someone releases something like this after the trouble some people had with my excel sheet. Not sure if you want your feedback in here but since you didn't make a thread for it here goes:

What I did was add a fourth button to troubadors with a jester's cap and a raidsay "test's". This is what it put out (I had to add an underscore to &_apos; because of a bug with the site here, the output of your tool was without the underscore):

Seems to be a bug somewhere, at least that tell fragment shouldn't be there. Also did you test whether the '&_apos;' works? I think I had trouble with that and needed to enclose in ".

I also added the third button to the quote above because I don't think that tell will actually work with the unenclosed slash / character, eq2 should take it as an operator (division) written like that, at least it used to.

Also can confirm what Faerwynd said btw.

Added Instructions

After downloading this program, which I think is neat I kept getting errors that it could not find the config or spell text files that were supposed to be located in the EverquestII\UI\ProphitUI\*.* folder.

I don't see that copying these 2 .txt files into the ProphitUi main folder mentioned in your instructions.

Everything else seems to be working as intended. I haven't tried in-game yet, but will let you know if there are any problems. Otherwise, no news is good news
