I liked being able to hover over POI's and see the coords. I used that A LOT. I'ts much easier to do that to see if I'm in the neighborhood of something I'm looking for than to type in a bunch of numbers. Also, the search needs to be able to do partial matches. If I'm looking for Ghizzleshwizzleflatulator, I should be able to just type in Ghizzle to get a hit. My experience so far is that it also only checks the label. It would also be nice if it searched the comment/descriptions of POI's. I like what the search function could potentially do, but for a lot of things I've tried to find, it's just not there yet. Also, as others have said, a way to unclutter the POI's by category is almost a necessity.

I really do appreciate the hard work that went into modding the new map system, but until you have parity in functionality, the old one should continue to be an option.

Sounds like you have a outdated UI, try downloading a new version if possible.

I downloaded map, I have the map when I play, but I have no titlebar. Nothing at all to click on top and no words on top. I can not type in coordinates, look for poi's, etc. I have done the window settings to show frame and titlebar.
Please help so I can enjoy playing the game again with a workable map.

Hey guys,

Overall, I like the new map system, and thank you for getting EQ2Map to work with it so quickly!

I only wish for two things:

1. When you open the location bar on the side, the POIs are categorized by type. You can expand and contract these categories by clicking on the [+] sign. I wish there was a way to have these categories collapsed when you first open the location sidebar. It would make it much less to scroll through. Right now, even if you contract all of the categories, they appear expanded again the next time you open the sidebar.

2. I really wish there was a way to filter the display of POIs by type (for example, only have locations display, or NPCs display). It would make it a lot easier to find things visually. Right now, the map is very cluttered with POI icons.

If you guys found a way to implement the above two things, I think EQ2Map would be perfect! ^_^

Is it possible to locate the box for inputting a location to the bottom of the EQ2Maps Screen ?

Currently the zone selection pull downs take up a lot of room at the top, making it tough to type in a set of coordinates without expanding EQ2Maps considerably.

Type the loc in the search text field and then press the path button

It can't find everquest2.exe , open Options and select the top most browse , make sure you find the everquest2.exe file. Should work now.

I may be missing the mark completely but so far this new map doesn't allow you to enter loc's. so becomes all but useless to me. I like the layout and all the "eye candy" but cant find a single damn thing on it and it does't seem to let me search by loc either.

I have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 but when I try to launch EQII via EQ2Map I get the message "There was an error trying to launch Everquest II, Please open Everquest 2 manually."

I read and re-read the instructions am I missing something because I don't know what else to do.

I agree with what previous commenters said. The new map system is unattractive and especially inconvenient on smaller monitors. Please keep updating the old map system.

As the old map system is no longer supported , there are no new maps for TSO.
As there are so many advantages with the new system there was no point to keep the old system updated.

Are there new maps for TSO? Using this old map system. I do not like the new map system. I downloaded this file and updated it to check for new TSO maps but dont have them. What am I doing wrong? Or are there new maps for the old map system.

I applaud you guys for creating a new map project to support the new system in EQ2 -- aside from the new eq map's size -- it comes across as childish -- and I wish we'd been able to retain the old one -- BUT WAIT -- the old tried and true is only a single mouse click away in OPTIONS -- under UI/MAP - click OFF the 'new map system' and presto there's the EQ2MAP enabled version we all have used and loved for so long.

SO PLEASE don't abandon the earlier eq2map project -- its amazing -- any many of us like it more than the new one!

Great job. I only wish there was a way to filter which types of POI show. Unless I am missing something I have only found a way to either show them all or none.

One issue I keep having is that if I go into window mode, the position of both the large and small maps moves. Even restarting the game will not reset the positions and one has to manually reset them back.
