Exur, there are five cure tabs in the utility (Priest, Mage, Conjuror, Paladin and None), one for each class combination of cure abilities. If you switch to the correct cure tab for your class, you can delete the /tell text from each of the buttons. Save the window and you're done. Let me know if that's not working for you.

On my cure tab, I see my tell column is blank (Don't send tell). But I must have enabled something, cause every time I cure someone it sends a /tell. The curse cure is great how it posts something to group/raid/tell when I cast cure curse. But for the others, I don't need a tell. How can I disable this?

Thanks!

I kind of like the new exp bar. I was just wandering if it is possible to have another exp bar showing, I like having my regular exp and AA exp being shown at the same time. Also is it possible to have a window that shows coins or even a window that you can custom make show what you want.

On another note, are you going to maybe make a help file on how to configure some things?

Exclamation Strange behavior from Darq

An interesting UI and the utility looks quite cool. While it is interesting, I wanted to go back to one of my other UIs.

I went to my eq2.ini file and uncommented the UI I wanted and commented the DARQUI CL line. Just like I've done on numerous occasions without any incidents.

Rebooted the entire game. I was rather surprised when Darq UI loaded rather than the selected UI. I rechecked the eq2.ini file and the changes that I had made were there.

Restarted the game again only to have the Darq UI and not the one I had selected. Not cool.

In an attempt to remove and Darq influence, I deleted the DarqUI folder and all of its contents and restarted the game. Now all I can get is the default UI no matter what I do.

I've checked and re-checked the eq2.ini file. In fact I copied my backup copy to the Everquest folder. Still I get the default UI

Not sure what the Darq Utility did, but I was not having any such going-ons prior to loading Darq Utility.

I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit) and yes I'm setup as admin.

Sure would appreciate any ideas.

Thanks

jnewton, can you post the contents of your eq2.ini file here, please?

Thanks Darq, here you go.

cl_ui_skinname DrumsUI

cl_ui_subdir UI/

# Below you find some additional options that cannot be set via the ingame menu.
# Just add or remove a "#" in front of the setting which you want to activate/deactivate

# Enable Anti-Aliasing support (enable here, then set via your graphics card driver)
r_aa_blit 1

# Allow the possibility to have chat channels in more than one tab/window
chat_allowduplicatechannels 1

#To force EQ2 to listen to your custom cl_screenwidth and cl_screenheight parameters
#cl_validate_resolution false

#EQ2 automatically reduces texture quality if your system's memory is used up, resulting in washed out icons and character graphics, for example. With this command you can disable that behavior. Would be better to just get more memory though, it's cheap these days.
#disable_auto_low_mem_mode 1

jnewton, the DarqUI application only operates on files inside the UI directory that you choose, and the Make Default button sets the skinname line in the eq2.ini file for folks who don't want to bother with Notepad. There's really no "magic" going on that would cause my interface files to be chosen in preference over another. I think if you will log in and out a couple of times without changing any more of the lines in eq2.ini, you'll find that the listed interface will load up just fine for you.

jehcan, thanks for your comments. One of the features of the experience bar is choosing stat pages based on which XP bar you're displaying. It would take a good bit of re-writing to display multiple bars. But I do like your idea about making your own stat pages. In fact, the original idea for the DarqUI group and raid windows was to drag-and-drop icons out of a spellbook, but the amount of programming involved was more than I had time for. I'll take another look at the idea for the XP bar. It's certainly worth considering.

Regarding the help file, I'm trying to get all of the necessary help text into the application itself. Just about every control you can mouse over has context-sensitive help text right inside the application window. I went to a lot of trouble to write complete help files for earlier versions of the UI pieces, but it turns out most folks weren't interested in reading them. I can help with anything that's giving you trouble if you want to post your question in this thread.

Thank you Darq. This is what I figured. There must be some sort of cache that is holding the profile and/or files. I'll log into the game in a bit and see what happens. If there is a cache, it should have expired by now. Definitely some strange behavior. Given the shear size and the complexity of the game, I'm surprised that there are not more 'strange incidents'. I'll post my results later today or tomorrow after I get in game.

Again, thank you for the response.

Bigger Option?

First things first, Thankyou for making mods without people like yourself we would all be stuck with that horrible default UI!

Now for my question. Is there a version of your group window that is perhaps a big larger? I love the group window with the 5 spell macros on and these are really useful when playing a healer. However at times the icons are a little small to hit when you are "in the thick of it" I'd just like a perhaps bigger version 50-100% not sure how practical this would be. Most likely I think 50% increase would be plenty.

Again thanks for your mods and if this isn't possible I understand I do not know how complicated it would really be to do.

Regards
Yonge.

Darq,

Well, everything has cleared up. There must be a cache somewhere that was holding the configuration. I've never encountered this 'feature' before. A bit unnerving to say the least.

While your UI doesn't meet my current needs, it is still pretty cool and I'll be keeping an eye on it. While I'm using DrumsUI, I've added a number of other folk's modules/plug-ins to customize the UI to my needs.

The Utility idea is pretty darn cool and has a tremendous amount of potential. I suspect that it could be developed as a general purpose UI management tool.

Keep up the good work.

Post Re: Bigger Option?

Hi Yonge, actually I'm a big fan of the default UI so most of my mods try to look and feel like default pieces. Having said that, a larger group window has been one of the most requested features. The next version of the updater has some code to let you choose from different versions of the same file, and the different size group windows would be a perfect example. Ideally, I wish SOE would give us a scaling factor for each window (a bit like the way toolbars work now), but until then writing multiple versions of the same file is fairly tedious.

Just looking, is there a chance you will add a picture of your UI when raiding ?

Also, what Resolution are you using ?

Thanks

Dechau, you can find images of the Raid window at this page:

http://www.eq2interface.com/download...CureCheck.html

The internals of the window have changed since that version, but the appearance is the same. As for the image resolution of the UI pieces shown on this page, some of them were reduced a bit to fit into the composite image but most are full size. I believe I reduced the screenshots of the Window Utility to 50%.

Recent update broke 2.0.. Just upgraded to 2.1, which fixed alot of my issues. But 2.1 doesn't look like it works in Battlegrounds. It doesn't recognize the server.name formate. Anyone else seeing this? 2.0 worked in Battlegrounds, so just wondering if this was something others were seeing and/or being addressed.

Thanks!
