Compass (at min size)

Description
The clock, at its smallest size, shows a sundial (about three-quarters of the size of the default sundial) and displays the game and real-world times. If it's expanded, it also displays the game day, date and year. If it's expanded even further, it additionally displays the current zone and location.

The compass, at its smallest size, displays, well, a compass. But the graphic has been modified to include two "LED" displays letting you know how your location will change as you move. The left LED tells how the first loc number will change, and the right LED tells how the third loc number will change. (The middle loc number reflects your current altitude.) Green indicates that the loc number will increase, while red indicates that it will decrease.

If the compass display is expanded, it displays the current zone and location. If it's expanded even further, it also displays the game and real-world times.

You can use either or both, as you see fit. Personally, I have the clock set to display *only* the times, as I see no real use for knowing the game day, date and year, and have the compass displaying the zone and location. But your preferences may vary.

-- Darryl

========================================

VERSION HISTORY:

080214 - UPDATE - Added zone location to the display, in addition to zone name.

060107 - UPDATE - Fixed the compass direction, which had been broken by changes made in LU 14 or 15, and recolored the compass and clock slightly to better match the new default UI.

(Earlier version history has been lost. Sorry. I was a bit overzealous in declaring this mod "obsolete.")

Zone Location

The displayed zone location always reads "The Thundering Steppes 2" but gives the correct location on a popup mouse-over. Even with this slight bug, I really like this one. Thanks.

I know that you probably won't ever see this as it's not in the official thread but I just wanted to say that it's been another year and a half without needing an update for any reason what so ever. Gotta love hassle free mods.

Thank you very much for these.

Ok, I'm an idiot. Next time I'll actually try reading before posting.

Thanks for the heads up.

Actually, that problem was fixed back in January. You obviously haven't updated the version you're using for a while.

I still use the Clock portion but the compass no longer displays the correct direction as it's now off by 1 degree. Meaning that if you are headed North it will show as West.

Compass off by 90 degrees

I looked all over for the fix that is mentioned above but haven't found it anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I love this mod, but the compass is reading off (at least for me) by 90 degrees. i.e. I am facing upward on the map - North - and the compass says I am facing West.

Is there something I am doing wrong here?

So far as I'm aware, in-game clocks can only display hours and minutes.

The same way you resize any other window.

Just move the mouse over the top or bottom edge of the window, and the mouse pointer will turn into the up-and-down arrow indicating that the window can be resized. (It might be easier to do if you opaque the window background first, so you can see exactly where the window edge is.)
