DarqUI Unified



Sep 5, 2017: Large Examine Window

A new large size version of the Examine Window is available on the updater. See image below. The large Examine window affects items, spells, spell scrolls, recipes, alternate advancements and spell effects



DarqUI and DarqUI Utility v3.1.1.0 have these new and updated features (updated Sep 10):

Start Menu
The three custom buttons near the bottom of the Start Menu can now be configured with your choice of game commands or DarqUI window commands

Sep 3: Changed SOEmote to Voice Chat, added shortcut choices to Reset DarqUI windows and raise the Group Options (loot options) window

Sep 10: Added shortcut choice to toggle the Enemy List. See image below. Thanks to Outlaw for the idea
Experience Window
The Experience Window has been improved See what's new
Thanks to Basmol and Accredo for their testing and feedback

Sep 3: Added Command Bar shortcut choices to Reset DarqUI windows and raise the Group Options (loot options) window, changed SOEmote to Voice Chat. See image below.

Sep 10: Added Command Bar shortcut choice to toggle the Enemy List. See image below. Thanks to Outlaw for the idea
Group Window
Added Health and Power Monitor to the Group window. Thanks to tetryl for the suggestion
Group member portraits were removed in anticipation of an upcoming game feature change
Added a control to Hide window when solo. Thanks to Aniko for the suggestion and testing
Maintained Spell Monitor
Some internal logic points were reworked to improve efficiency
Added new tile modes to the utility
Removed the extra "Target" label (thanks Aniko for the suggestion)
Spells with punctuation can now be recast and sidecast without errors
The target line will now read "a Mercenary" instead of "Out of range"
The recast/sidecast button is more clear about attempting to cast on Mercenaries

Icon Amount displays (wards, charges, etc.) are now abbreviated for values over one million
Unabbreviated Amount values can optionally be displayed on spell tiles. See image below

Icon Bar
Buff tinting Custom icons that cast Maintained buffs will now gray out in the Icon Bar when the buff is active on your character. Turn on the option from the Window Manager or the utility. Thanks to DuneWarrior for the suggestion

Note: To use buff tinting for Ascension spells that were set up before this feature was added, remove (Ascension) from the name/tooltip

The utility no longer offers two copies of Ascension and AA spells when doing a Census lookup

You can now use TNAME (the DarqUI version of %T) and ITNAME mnemonics when referencing targets and implied targets with the Icon Bar. Utility v3.1.0.9 and above will replace %T in imported hotkey macros with TNAME for compatibility

Characters with health and power in the millions can now use warning setpoints in the Stat Monitor. Choose Health Percent or Power Percent in the stat list to set a warning threshold based upon a percentage rather than the raw value

Setpoint alerts for Ability Mod can now be set up to 10 million

DarqUI Unified combines the best of DarqUI, DarqUI Live and EQ2Inventory into one, with some useful new features. Standard DarqUI users can now choose to make quick, permanent configuration changes right from the game screen while playing, as an alternative to loading up the external window utility. There is no longer a limit to the number of characters that can be customized, and many of the settings that were previously shared by all of your characters can now be configured for each character separately.

DarqUI Live users can take advantage of an all-new configuration app with features like Quick Setup, backup and restore, character and spell file maintenance, and a new lookup feature that queries Daybreak servers for spell lines and icons to use for your spell buttons. The DarqUI Unified configuration app has been rewritten from the ground up to provide all of the conveniences from the DarqUI Window Utility and the Live Updater. You will find many usability improvements and an uncluttered design that matches the familiar in-game window manager.

Large size windows DarqUI Unified offers larger-size versions of many windows to accommodate higher resolution monitors. Choose the size you prefer from the Updates page of the utility. These include Active Journal (quest helper), Casting Bar, Chat, Dissonance, Examine, Experience Bar, Group, Implied Target, Maintained Spell Monitor, Maintained Spells, Mercenary, NPC Spell Monitor, Pet, Player, Raid, Savagery, Target, Threat and Tracking. DarqUI windows that were already usable with higher resolutions include Detrimental Effects, Hotbars and Spell Effects.

EQ2Inventory Track and search equipment, bags, bank, shared bank, house vault, Wardrobe contents, mount and Familiar collections and up to 9 houses, guild hall and player-made dungeons per character from the DarqUI Unified interface.

Chat Log Parser features keyword, category and date/time searches that recognize English, German and French log files. Use the preset category filters or build your own using regular expressions.

EQ2MAP integration Install and update EQ2MAP alongside DarqUI with a single click.

Help system Help files are now available for all DarqUI Unified windows and utility functions. Context-sensitive help information can be accessed externally from the window utility or from the window manager in-game. Use the new, more robust "Make default" feature on the Files page of the utility to set DarqUI as your default. This will prevent needing to use /loadui from the game window which crashes the awesomium browser.

Spell Suggestions There is a new French spell suggestion file in addition to German and English.

DarqUI Unified Notifications is a Windows tray icon that checks periodically for DarqUI and EQ2MAP updates. More information for setting up and using DarqUI_Notify can be found here. The app is optional, and is included in the download on this page.

Never mind: a new installation has solved the issue.
BTW, thanks for that great UI. I feed naked without it
I had exactly the same problem.
I deleted the eq2ui_mainhud_windowmanager.xml, ran the utility, then it worked again.

Yes, on the Cures tab put "Cure" in the spell name slot if you are a priest, "Cure Spells" if you are a paladin, etc. Unchecking the Cure Check box will override the detriment counter and allow you to cast from the icon whether curable or uncurable. Are you trying to pre-cure, as in casting a cure before an icon has appeared?

Error since last update

Hi, since last update, when I launch DarqUI Unified, I get that error:

"There was a problem loading the window manager. Some item lists and other custom selections may not be available. Element racine manquant."

Now, in game i'm unable to use your windows manager. Any idea ?

PS: I always launch DarqUI Unified as Administrator.


Never mind: a new installation has solved the issue.
BTW, thanks for that great UI. I feed naked without it

you need to also put the cure spells for your class into the spell slots to override /cureplayer -- in the cure settings? I have tried that and it does not work

There is a button just to the left of the self-cure buttons on the threat window that will toggle it, or use the command /togglethreatlistwindow. A shortcut choice for this has also been added to the Start menu and the command bar on the XP window.

I am sorry if this has been answered or is a simpleton question...

How do I get the Enemy List window to open? It isn't in the Manager and the Helper doesn't open it.

Cures in DarqUI default to using /cureplayer which always does the equivalent of a Cure Check, so the checkbox has no effect in that case. To be able to cast a cure when the ally has only uncurables, you need to also put the cure spells for your class into the spell slots to override /cureplayer. This will give you "traditional" cures which can be used with Cure Check.

Curing issue.
Turning "Cure Check" off does not allow casting cures without having a detriment on the group/raid buttons. Also the casting is really lagged on the buttons. Is there a way around this problem?

Hi, thanks for the quick reply!
That does sound like a quicker fix to my issue when it does happen, rather than re-adjusting the elements that failed to appear properly.

I found this to happen when the login server doesn't respond and I get booted to character select, and relog to same character, as you suggested; However, it doesn't reset the xp bar to my prior setting

Thanks for the hard work on my favorite UI!

Two things:

1) If you log in to the same character twice in a row, either by camping to yourself or by camping to character select and choosing the same character again, the XP progress bars will go back to the default of 440px. Custom settings are triggered when the current character changes, and in the above two cases the character doesn't change even though you logged in freshly.

2) When this happens again with the XP bar or other customized window, open the window manager and click the Reset icon in the upper right-hand corner (green circular arrows). Does this reset the customizations?

UI resetting at random

Do you have any idea why my DarqUI keeps resetting certain elements (usually xp bar) at random?
I have it maximized at 1480px across, hiding the dropdowns that i don't use.

Every so often, i will log into a character that had it set before, and it will still have the 1480 but only show at around 550px or something.

There's a couple of ways to do this. To use one of the Beastlord hotbars (ornate or mini) you need to check Options > User Interface > Spell Icons > Display numerical reuse counter. This will give you decimal countdown timers (e.g. 12.9). But the timers will also appear on every other hotbar.

If you have room on your standard hotbars you can use DarqUI cooldown timers. Drag your Beastlord arts onto one of them and choose Frame and Titlebar from window options.

It is possible to display the recast timers in the beastlord hotbar? I have seen a video where the timers in the beastlord hotbar were displayed.
