Description
DarqUI Unified

May 24, 2018: GU106 Seeds of Vengeance

Examine, Target, Implied Target
Updated code to reflect default changes (Jun 19)

Nav Bar
All pages stay visible when the Nav Bar is maximized near the bottom of the game window. Choose normal or large size from the updater

Harvesting Helper
Save a default speed setting for each character

Player and Extended Player
Mouse-over Group window spell buttons can be added from the window manager. Choose normal or large size from the updater

Thanks to SerenityMW who suggested and tested all three of the above improvements (Jun 9)

Character
Updated to reflect default changes (Jun 5)

Community
Updated to reflect default changes (Jun 2)

Hotbars
Added an extra-large font size choice for cooldown timers. Hotkey icons larger than 50 pixels will get the larger font by default. This can be changed to suit your preferences. Thanks to Furiant for the idea

Examine
Item examine updated to reflect default changes. Choose normal or large size from the DarqUI utility

Experience
Optionally add tooltips to the stat area. Thanks to SerenityMW for the idea and for testing

Nav Bar
A new default control replaces the +/- buttons. Use the mouse wheel to scroll between nav bar pages, or click to show all pages at once. If you prefer the original +/- buttons, you can choose them while in Edit Mode. Thanks to Aniko for the suggestion

Gear Buff Macros
A new control to change tile spacing along with tile size (again thanks to SerenityMW)

Tradeskills
New EQ2U and Wikia link buttons on the recipe create and prepare pages

Character
Updates to Familiars page to match default changes

Quest Journal
  • A new link to EQ2U on the Collections tab. Thanks to feldon30 for developing this new feature

  • A new Close on Add checkbox on the Collections tab. Thanks to SerenityMW for the idea and for very detailed feedback and testing

Nav Bar

A new floating Nav Bar duplicates the Experience window Command Bar in a separate window. You can detach the Nav Bar from the Experience window and move it to a more convenient place on screen, or use both nav bars at the same time. Icon sets in the two windows are independent, so you can use Edit Mode to configure up to 20 different commands.

Activate the Nav Bar from the Experience Window page in the Window Manager. Choose normal or large size from the Updates page in the DarqUI utility.

Update Mar 12: slight change in function -- when the floating nav bar is the only one present, it will automatically choose a page based upon which XP bar is showing. When both nav bars are present, only the main (docked) nav bar will choose pages automatically

Transport

Inspired by popular add-ons like Mystal's Travel Hub, the new DarqUI Transport window gathers dozens of transportation modes from around Norrath -- spells, portals, evacs, calls, and more. Transport categories are aware of your class, race and tradeskill class, showing spells, traits and teleportation gear specific to your character.
  • Free up hotbar slots
  • Stop digging through inventory for transport items
To access the window, a pre-configured icon can be added to the XP Command Bar or the Start Menu. If you prefer instead to add a button to the Icon Bar or a hotbar macro, the command is

show_window Custom.Transport.Toggle

Many thanks to Rosyposy for suggesting the window, and for her truly outstanding feedback and testing. We hope you find the new Transport window to be useful.

Zoning
  • Zoning will alternate between EQII and DarqUI "Did you know" tips
  • Mouse over the tip to make it easier to read
  • Click to choose a different tip
  • Resizing the window while zoning is now easier

Compass
Displays an EQ1-style marker to point the way to your current waypoint

Quest Helper
Control to enable/disable quest URL buttons

Also, take a look at the new tutorial for Auto-Hiding the Quest Helper

Player
New characters no longer start out with an extremely wide Player window
Clock
Rebuilt countdown timer
  • Set time intervals up to 100 minutes
  • Mouse wheel quickly adjusts display values
  • Audible and visual alarms
New stopwatch feature
  • Time events up to 100 minutes
  • Optionally auto-start on combat
  • Record up to 30 splits and laps using markers
  • Split table is exportable to chat or Notepad
Hide timer and stopwatch when not in use
Optionally display Earth time

Chat
The DarqUI Chat window has a new option to remove redundant input boxes from specific chat windows. Right-click -> Window Settings and choose Frame and Titlebar to remove the input line. Choose Frame Only or None to show the input line (see images in the comments section below)

Important! In order to chat, you must have at least one input box present on screen. If you find that you cannot chat after the update, use the above instructions to show the input box, then right-click the chat window and click Always Chat Here

Thanks to Mazar for the suggestion

Set Prices
The large increments feature has been updated to allow adding and subtracting any amount of plat in up to one-million plat increments. The feature uses the same coin selection interface as the DarqUI Bank Sidebar

Added Atomizing Merchant Crate to special containers in the Commission Calculator

Window Settings
Added several custom and new windows to the Locate feature
Experience and Character Windows
Stat areas were widened to prevent clipping large stat values when using large font styles
Enemy List
This window now has a plain background and obeys the click-through setting similar to other persistent windows
Broker
Tier 12 items have been added to Preset Filters
  • Rare harvests
  • Food and drink
  • Snacks
  • Status items
  • Ammo incl bolts
An Ascension Class shortcut filter was added to the Advanced Search page
Levels 101 through 110 are recognized by Advanced and Preset Searches

Character Window
Pet, Warder and Construct tabs will appear in the correct order for pet classes when using the icon tab sidebar, and there are no longer extra icon tabs at the bottom for non-pet classes

Finding the Krono panel is easier (thanks kdberg for the idea)
Help
DarqUI Help has been moved to the EQII Help window instead of the Browser window (see image). As a result, accessing help files in-game should no longer crash your session. Accessing Help from the utility did not change
Spell Suggestions
Spell lists have been updated with Level 101 through 110 spells in English, French and German

Other changes since the expansion went live are shown below in green

DarqUI Unified combines the best of DarqUI, DarqUI Live and EQ2Inventory into one, with some useful new features. Standard DarqUI users can now choose to make quick, permanent configuration changes right from the game screen while playing, as an alternative to loading up the external window utility. There is no longer a limit to the number of characters that can be customized, and many of the settings that were previously shared by all of your characters can now be configured for each character separately.

DarqUI Live users can take advantage of an all-new configuration app with features like Quick Setup, backup and restore, character and spell file maintenance, and a new lookup feature that queries Daybreak servers for spell lines and icons to use for your spell buttons. The DarqUI Unified configuration app has been rewritten from the ground up to provide all of the conveniences from the DarqUI Window Utility and the Live Updater. You will find many usability improvements and an uncluttered design that matches the familiar in-game window manager.

Large size windows DarqUI Unified offers larger-size versions of many windows to accommodate higher resolution monitors. Choose the size you prefer from the Updates page of the utility. These include Active Journal (quest helper), Casting Bar, Chat, Dissonance, Examine, Experience Bar, Group, Implied Target, Maintained Spell Monitor, Maintained Spells, Mercenary, NPC Spell Monitor, Pet, Player, Raid, Savagery, Target, Threat and Tracking. DarqUI windows that were already usable with higher resolutions include Detrimental Effects, Gear Buff Macros, Hotbars, Icon Bar and Spell Effects.

EQ2Inventory Track and search equipment, bags, bank, shared bank, house vault, Wardrobe contents, mount and Familiar collections and up to 9 houses, guild hall and player-made dungeons per character from the DarqUI Unified interface.

Chat Log Parser features keyword, category and date/time searches that recognize English, German and French log files. Use the preset category filters or build your own using regular expressions.

EQ2MAP integration Install and update the official EQ2MAP alongside DarqUI with a single click.

Help system Help files are now available for all DarqUI Unified windows and utility functions. Context-sensitive help information can be accessed externally from the window utility or from the window manager in-game. Use the new, more robust "Make default" feature on the Files page of the utility to set DarqUI as your default. This will prevent needing to use /loadui from the game window which crashes the awesomium browser.

Spell Suggestions There is a new French spell suggestion file in addition to German and English.

DarqUI Unified Notifications is a Windows tray icon that checks periodically for DarqUI and EQ2MAP updates. More information for setting up and using DarqUI_Notify can be found here. The app is optional, and is included in the download on this page.

Thank you very much! Your directions were simple enough, but boy has everything changed! Interestingly enough, that experience bar wasn't being resetted anymore on my character named "Hollcome." However, I can replicate the issue on all my other characters.

Indeed, there is a rare problem - sometimes settings any window may not be saved.

This is a good idea. Separate settings for "Cures cancel spellcast" have been added to Player and Extended Player windows. You can download the new files now. The setting is not active by default so you'll have to set it from the window manager. Try it out and post here if you have any problems.

In the Character window on the Mercenary tab, click the large blue icon at the top. This will switch to the page where you can equip and train your merc. To go back to the mercenary list, click the icon under the mercenary paperdoll.

You would most likely have to maintain the list manually for all 120 hotkeys. I'll see what can be done as long as it doesn't require too much overhead.

The controls for cooldown font size aren't exactly intuitive, but to simplify it -- if you are using the default font size breakpoints, then any hotbar with icons larger than 34 will display the largest of three cooldown font sizes. The feature was originally designed to reduce text size for players with very small hotbar icons. It might make sense these days to add an extra-large font size option since resolutions are getting higher and some players might have hotbars larger than 42 pixels.

.
Thanks for the info. Honestly I don't think I'd use something that I had to manually update for all hotkeys, so if that's the only option I wouldn't ask you to do that.

I'll look into the hotbar settings again, but I did turn it to none just so I could see the icon. But this has disabled the cooldown text. I can live with it. Really, if the keybind label wasn't so absurdly verbose it wouldn't be a problem. Whomever approved a format like <Ctrl NumPad 9> was clearly past caring.

EDIT: So to clarify, certain abilities, like Call to Home, do show cooldown labels; none of my combat ones do though.

My understanding was that if I set the hotbar settings to Minimal, the game would abbreviate the text, but that doesn't appear to be working. I can hide the text altogether, but that also hides the cooldown timer.

I searched a bit looking for a file to edit the text to something like "N5", "CN5", etc. but it looks like that is internal only.

I also took a look at the text sizing options you provided in the DarqUI hotbar manager, but I couldn't make sense of it, and nothing I set it to had any effect.

I run at 2560x1440, with hotbar buttons sized to 42, and want the text to either fit that size, or I want to disable the keybind text but allow the cooldown text.

Can you help with this? Thanks in advance.

Btw, I wonder if it would be possible to disable or hide the game's internal keybind text altogether and just implement your own, which reads from an editable config file; that way we could abbreviate to our liking in a way that would actually serve its purpose. Just a thought.

I am probably missing something basic.

Thanks.

To choose large or normal size windows, check for updates with the utility then right-click the "Sz" column for options.

To configure the Group window from inside the game, click the blue gem button in the upper left-hand corner of the Group window.

To configure the Group window using the utility, choose your character's name and Group from the dropdowns. Make sure you are in Component Mode as shown here.
