On the broker, price present (very nice for save time), the max coin value is 9999p, but now the cap coin in the broker is 999999p.

A lot of the early custom interface stuff (including Profit, which I also used for years) was focused on downsizing various parts that felt oversized at the time. Now 10 years or so later, all those tiny fonts and windows packed with little widgets at 1900x1200 or even 1680x1050 are just painful to try to use. Our eyes are all 10 years older now too btw. And so I am adding larger alternatives (most about 1.5x size) to DarqUI.

The blank spaces around and between widgets have a purpose. They are not a mistake. If all gamers were 15 year-olds with perfect eyesight and lightning reflexes it would be ok. But to serve a very wide spectrum of gamers I think a good UI design has to go beyond "cram as many widgets as you can into the smallest possible space." But much of the earlier interface work does exactly that.

I understand, though i dont agree 100%. Historically i totally agree, but my 50 year old (yeah for realz) eyes with glasses and all don't really strain yet. I'm totally for a usable UI that isn't crammed, and i really wasn't talking about that more about using the existing real estate more, in my mind, efficiently.

I'm running 1920X1080 and have for years, yet with the amount of information i like when playing it does become a question of realestate and being able to see other things than just my UI, when i get some more playing time over the weekend ill post up a screenie of my UI layout, along with a few examples of what i mean. A picture says more than a 1000 words, or so im told

Was wondering, on an overall level, if you would be ... susceptible shall we say, to input on lowering real estate use on some windows etc? i'm weird, i want alot of info but all the snazzy looking big stuff just isn't me.

Examples would be the huge buttons on the merc window, overlaying cure buttons threat/Self->target->implied target, etc.

Stuff like that, wish i where better at the XML part and i would do it myself , but ill stick to networks and servers for now

Im aware it wouldnt be for everyone hence why im asking like this.

On items you have links to different sites like eq2i and ZAM, is it possible to put links next to the collections in the quest journal as well, i'm a shiny addict, and it would be cool to still be able and swiftly look up what shinies are from where in all them collections.
Sorry for the long rant and keep up the good work.

The quest journal with URL buttons was added to the beta update server this afternoon, feel free to try it out early if you like.

Shocker1974, I'll take another look at the quest journal as soon as I can. I've resisted adding the quest/collection URL buttons since I would not have any other modifications for that window, and by adding even a small feature I am forever chained to keeping it updated whenever DBG makes a change to the default. But this has definitely been requested several times in the past.

Everything loaded up fine in all cases but we had DarqUI listed in eq2_recent.ini before starting the game.

Some folks still have trouble with the /loadui command crashing their sessions, but that is the command that updates eq2_recent. If there is a cl_ui_skinname in that file, it gets used regardless of what eq2.ini says.

That worked, thank you!

Also, as im new to using darq, is the data etc in the threat window functional if i turn the games autoattack bars off etc? as i like the threat window alot more for that data than the standard autoattack bars - hate how they take up a ****ton of real estate.

Oh and is there a way to display numbers on self, target and implied target vs just bars and %s?
Isnt it weird how when your used to things you never really consider where they came from? lol

The DarqUI autoattack bars in the threat window are completely separate from the default ones. You can turn those off in Options (Alt+O) and the custom ones will continue to work.

Health/power values appearing on the target windows would mean completely reworking all three windows, so that probably won't happen, although I've been threatening for a long time to do a separate Profit-style self>target>implied window. The health/power numerical values could be worked into that (or some kind of extension to the player window) and get a lot better results.
