The mystery window is the Maintained Spell Monitor. In the utility, click on the SpellMon tab and you will see general information about the window in the lower part of the utility. Hover your mouse over the various parts of the SpellMon tab and there is quite a bit of info and help.

You can turn it off for the current game session by clicking the (hidden) button in the upper left-hand corner of the window and then unchecking the first checkbox on the menu that appears. You can turn it on or off permanently for each character from the utility.

New user...question...

Used the tool to download and install the ui. Had it save the quick setup.

In game, I have this group of 7 dark boxes above my pet's info. What are they and how can i get rid of them if need be?

New Update utility

I downloaded the new Updater utility and updated my Darqui files to the newest version.

The ui works in game, but when i try to run the config utility after updating I get a .Net framework error and the config utility can only be ended.

I have tried every compatibility mode (running Win 8.1)

This is a good idea and I agree it would be pretty awesome. I've made several attempts at customizing the detriment window in the past, but IIRC the only way to get information from the icons is to hover the mouse and load the tooltip from the server. This makes any features a lot less useful since it is not hands-free. I'll look again and see if anything can be done with the window.

Issue=Mob Detriments / Buffs

many of the buffs are now timed *spawned* with no ability track on ACT or Cast so that it cannot be monitored via spell monitoring window.

My question or thought would be " Can that buff or Ability Detriment be monitored, im sure there is a way", For example Treyloth D'Kulvith that has a reflect that appears and disappears so when this reflect comes up im wondering if its possible to have a separate window, much like the Maintained Spell effects window, that could display the Icon On a much larger scale and read the occurrence time and duration times. This would drastically speed up trial and error on new mobs and help get data for new raid mobs for faster strat building.

This is an issue with the game, not the custom interface. It's been reported to Daybreak by multiple sources.

Errors with latest Update

if i login to live server i get errors saying require TLE server and it loads default and if i log to tle it says requires PVP. and all the most recent updates load default.

Heya

I did the test as asked :-

at login I get 1 awesomium process
using quest helper link it opens up 2 awesomium process
So thats 3 which is fine

When closeing Browser using the "clear all tabs and close" I am left with 1 awesomium process

and if I open tab 2 and tab 3 they both give 1 extra awesomium process as you said it would.

again if I close the browser using the "clear all tabs and close" I am left with 1 awesomium process

and yup way better than 8

PS
The time it took for me to type this less than 5 mins the 1 awesomium process had gone,when I used the quest helper link it went to 3 awesomium process as above.

Some more updates are on the server. I believe the extra process may have been because you had a non-blank home page and mine was blank. Try the changes and see if you get just two awesomiums upon logging in, even if you have specified a home page.

Talk about being fast

ok heres what I found :-

start the game up 1 awesomium process
Open browser gives me 2 extra awesomium process (done by clicking on a quest in the quest tracker section)
I select EQ2i and it gives me another 2 awesomium process

Total 5 awesomium process

Try the updated browser window that is on the update server. You will get one awesomium process when you load the game, and a second one if you open the browser. When you begin surfing you will get up to a total of four. You should no longer get eight. To end all awesomium processes, close the browser by clicking "Clear all tabs and close" from the browser Tools menu.

When the game starts, it loads a complete "base" copy of the interface that we don't see, like a reference template for the interface that will ultimately appear on screen when your character loads. DarqUI has three browser tabs and one additional browser pane used for ACT mode and for transferring web pages to the tabs. The tabs are pre-loaded with an internal URL that displays the custom Favorites start page. So when you open the "real" copy of the browser, you get your copy from the template, and therefore four additional instances of Awesomium. So that's the long story of why you see eight instances in the process list. If you want to end the last four processes after opening and closing the browser, you can type

/window_close MainHUD Browser

and you will be back to the initial four which will probably be very low memory -- 3K to 4K each. If you want to get rid of the initial four you can do a /loadui, but as you know that comes with its own set of problems. The easiest way to discard all of this is to rename or delete eq2ui_mainhud_browser.xml in your DarqUI folder. Then when you open the browser you will get the default single-page window, which is fine for basic browsing. This will give you only one awesomium process, and the rest of the interface will not be affected in any way.

I'll add the window_close command to the DarqUI browser and get that on the updater today as a partial fix, and I'll also look at a more minimal single-tab alternate to the current DarqUI browser.
