I suppose the first, most obvious question is, are you sure the graphics file is in the right spot? (The problem you're describing is almost certainly the result of the game not being able to locate the graphics file.) It needs to be in an "images" directory, which in turn should be located in the same directory that houses the XML file. The XML and DDS files should *not* be together in a single directory.
