When the program installs, it adds an additional shortcut to launch it for the test server:

"C:\Program Files\EQ2MAP Updater\EQ2MAP_Updater.exe" /testserver


However, when I click the launch button, an error comes up:

"There was an error trying to launch Everquest II, please open Everquest 2 manually."

Is it trying to open the wrong executable for test?

*EDIT* I should mention, I have test installed in the default folder specified by sony: C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\TestServer\TestEQ2.exe

i downloaded tacomans updater and when i use my desktop icon to open the updater is gives me an error message the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). any one else have that same problem?

I have been receiving the above error also since downloading the latest eq2maps update. I have tried changing firewall and other settings as some people have said have helped and nothing has. Then I was loading my eq2 and thought I realized it had been awhile since I updated my maps. As my eq2 was going through its now rather long update my eq2maps updated pefectly. I thought great now it is fixed. Next time I tried updating eq2maps I get the above error. I can only update eq2maps while my eq2 is updating...Can anyone think of an answer as to why?

Myself and several others are running into some real wierdnesses with EQ2Maps.

- no fog checkbox
- zone maps all messed up (zone in get the right one, maybe)
- POI Icons are even MORE messedup. Get the ones for the curent map, zone, get the ones for the new map PLUS the old map on a strange overlay, zone again etc etc. They eventually get really really fubar'd.

Any ideas? I know it isn't just me as a few others in my guild are having the exact same problems.

You can try to uninstall 1.0.13 an switch back to 1.0.6 who is the original program and see if you can get it to work.

I don't want a custom UI as I use only default. I never had a problem with the EQ2Maps program until this last update and I've been using it since it was first created.

The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
Using cached Database
Scanning installed files
No Updated Files
No New Files
Update Done

I went to options and tried to re-download all the files and got the same Error downloading File message as above.

Seems like a server error.
