Raid window
The DarqUI Raid window offers reference-cast spell buttons with real spell icons, configurable cure buttons with the DarqUI Cure Check feature, the Raid Health and Power Monitor, audible raid Curse and a macro facility. A new census lookup feature requests spell names, icons and spell ID numbers from the Daybreak servers so configuring your reference-cast spell buttons is easier and more accurate than ever.
Basic vs. Advanced ModeIf you right-click on the Raid window you can choose between Basic and Advanced modes from the context menu. In the default Raid window these choices hide and show the Cure icons. But for the DarqUI Raid window the two modes choose the location of the custom spell buttons. If you prefer to see the spell buttons continuously, choose Advanced Mode. Basic Mode has a smaller footprint, and the spell buttons appear only for the raid member under the mouse cursor.
Configuring the Raid window
NavigationIn the window utility, Raid window setup is done on two panels. Spells and cures are set up on one panel, while window layout and other customizations are done on a separate settings panel. Use the navigation link at the bottom of the page to switch between panels. If you are using the in-game window manager, spells, cures and settings each have their own tab.
On the main panel, you can switch between spells and cures with the navigation link next to the bank of icons. To move from icon to icon, use the left and right arrows or click the icon to move directly to that slot (utility).
Before making Raid window changes in the window utility, it's important to note that your Save Mode (Settings tab) will affect how you work with the spells. If you chose Automatic save, you don't have to worry about anything. Your changes are saved in the background as you move between icons and pages.
If you chose Restricted save, you will be prompted to save your changes each time you switch to a different icon. You can think of each of the five icons as a separate "page" even though they are all visible together on the Raid setup page. If you are saving with the Allow switching mode, you must take care to save the changes you make on the current icon before switching to another. If you click on a different icon without clicking the red Save button, you will lose any changes you made.
Spell icon setupIf you used Quick Setup, your character was configured with up to five reference-cast spell icons depending upon class and level. These are only suggestions to get you started. A number of adventure classes have many more spell choices that you may find more useful than the original ones, so you should feel free to tweak and make changes to your settings after using Quick Setup.
Navigate to an icon you want to change, then use the Spell name dropdown box to choose a new spell from the list of preset suggestions. If you do not see the spell you want, type the name, or the first part of the name, into the Spell name slot and click the Lookup link. If the Daybreak server has a match, it will appear and give you a chance to accept or cancel. If you accept the spell line it will be added to your spell suggestions file automatically, and the base spell will be applied to the selected icon slot.
Spell level and Spell IDFor most players, using the base spell name without a level designation (II, III, IV, etc.) is the recommended choice. When you cast with the base spell name and no level designation, the game will automatically choose the highest level spell available in your Knowledge book. As you level up your character and receive newer versions of your spells, you won't have to come back and set up the spell slot again. In these cases, choose Auto-level in the level select dropdown next to the spell name.
Some spell names for non-English clients contain special umlaut characters (ä, ü, ö etc.) that can cause spellcasting to fail. In these cases, the Spell ID number can be used to ensure the spell casts correctly. Each level of a spell in a spell line has its own Spell ID, so the only downside to using Spell IDs is of course the fact that you have to return to the setup as you receive higher level versions of your spells.
All spells that are in your spell suggestions file will know the associated Spell ID. To use it, choose the desired adventure level from the level select dropdown and then click Get Spell ID.
Chat textThese text boxes can be used to send a /tell, a /gsay or a /raidsay every time the spell icon is clicked. You do not need to begin the text with the channel command. In most cases, you will get good results by restricting the text to letters, numbers and spaces. If you want to use other characters, see "Using symbols" below. Chat text strings can include the following mnemonics:
Macro commandsAny command that you can perform in game from the chat window can be included in a spell icon macro. The macro will fire after any spell, tell, groupsay and raidsay lines have been sent.
You can create a macro command button that does not contain a spell -- just leave the Spell name and Spell ID lines blank. Choose an icon and a background color from the icon choices.
If you are using the command macro slot to cast an additional spell on the reference target, use TSLOT (target slot) with the useabilityonplayer command. This will allow your custom commands to work on live and Battlegrounds servers. Mnemonics that are usable in the Command field include:
Using symbolsIf you want to draw more attention to the chat text associated with a spell icon, you can use characters that are not letters, numbers and spaces. Any symbols from the keyboard can be used, but they must be wrapped with single quotes. For example:
'--==++<<< You have been J-Capped! >>>++==--'
If you use any of the mnemonics described in the help sections above, you must make sure they do not end up between the single-quotes, otherwise they will be interpreted literally. The following example will work correctly. Note that the mnemonics are isolated from the rest of the text with spaces:
'*** Casting ((' SPELL ')) on ' TNAME ' ***'
Raid Health and Power MonitorThis feature can alert you to low health or low power conditions during a raid. Choose a stat to monitor and a percentage value. When any raid member's health or power goes below this value, the area behind their name will change color. When the stat improves above the set value, the colored panel will disappear.
You can set the refresh rate between about 1 and 4 seconds. To improve performance, refresh checking is staggered slightly across groups.
